Oddly enough, with a subject that would seem to be right up "Green Acres" alley of weirdness, this episode falls a little flat. Perhaps the secret to "Green Acres" is to take the mundane and find the weirdness rather than take something already weird (flying saucers).
In this episode, Eb makes headlines when he sees a flying saucer and talks to the aliens (the newspaper runs a picture of him on page three, but its a baby picture "the only one I had in black and white" Eb explains). Mr. Haney quickly becomes Eb's manager. He tries to get .25 cents from people who want to shake Eb's hand. Although he doesn't believe any of it, Oliver is thrown by a kid in a space suit (Mayberry R.F.D.'s Buddy Foster). Another sitcom crossover occurs when the Air Force dispatches a Lieutenant (Bob Hastings, Lt. Carpenter from "McHale's Navy") to investigate.
There are some laughs in this episode, but it just doesn't come off as inspired as some of the others.
