I will admit up front I am a fan of musicals.
However, someone who isn't at least entertained by this episode (whether he is a musical fan or not) didn't give it a chance. From the dance steps to the facial expressions to funny lyrics, this episode was entertaining to the core. Most of the humor is not the slap-in-the-face kind of overt humor that one may expect. It actually requires you to be engaged to take in what is being sung about. The whole cast is quite good in their performances and sometimes the lyrics are borderline brilliant. I can only imagine how creative one must be to come up with a Broadway-style song when the subject is "poo" or "guy love."
When you're done watching, it really feels as if you just finished watching a full production rather than simply half an hour of TV. And every time I watch, I laugh out loud.
