NCIS: Grace Period (2007)
Season 4, Episode 19
9/10
One of the most intense episodes to date!

Warning: Spoilers
It's a shame to see the Paula Cassidy character arc finally come to an end. After three seasons of sparring with Tony as a potential love interest, Donald has firmly closed the book on all things Agent Paula Cassidy in a rather convincing and final fashion. Crackerjack suspense and great humour punctuated by tragic events and genuine emotion make this one of the most harrowing and thrilling episodes to date. There are very few shows out there that consistently give me goosebumps, but NCIS manages to do so somehow almost every single week! I'm glad that Tony's character is taking steps into emotionally uncharted waters, as it will help him grow, but it will also mean that his character won't be taking the same risks he used to. The development of McGee's novelling career is an interesting angle, and I have noticed a slightly different approach this year. It seems that almost every episode it's one character's turn in the barrel, from Ziva finding love through a dying runner that she sees one a day, to Tony's emotional awakening due to a personal tragedy, to Abby's (short) man troubles, now it's McGee's turn this week and I can't wait!
