Brilliant effects for a brilliant story.

It told the tale of drug addiction better than computer graphics could have, it let you imagine the details, making world more real and less tangible at the same time.

I haven't read this book (I have read some of his other works). I fully intend to read this after seeing this film.

I would recommend this film, the style in which it was created gives reason enough to recommend it. The story is wonderfully different, and has a strangely honest feel to it. The "acting" is all top class, even after animation, the vocal/emotional performances still lift this to a great film. It will no doubt soon be a cult classic.
