Review of Unidentified

Unidentified (2006)

This Christian is very disappointed
4 September 2006
I am a Christian; my life has been transformed by Jesus Christ. I strongly support folks who have a vision to produce movies of excellence which portray truth and help turn the tide of our culture for good. I should have loved this movie, right?

Wrong! The supposedly spiritual lead in Unidentified was a self-righteous "I have the answers and you don't" sort: without a shred of love, compassion, respect for the dignity of unbelievers or willingness to hear and respond to honest questioning. The message was not the good news: we all desperately need a savior, and one has been provided for us, a free gift from a God who loves His creation. The message was the bad news of religion: read your Bible and go to church more and you can avoid hell and be raptured out before you face tribulation.

Frankly, this movie was embarrassing. The script desperately needed editing, the acting and production were amateur and the message lacked intellectual honesty as well. The god it represented was not the God I know and love.

It had a few good spots but they were few and far between. I hope you WON'T bring unbelieving friends, WON'T waste your money and will stay away in droves.
