Review of Code Red

Code Red (2001 TV Movie)
6/10
Enjoyable...

This movie was shown on Sci-fi only a few moments ago, though it is rare that I've ever watched a movie on that channel to do something other than make fun of it, I for one, enjoyed this movie. For the most part it has a different sort of plot than the 'other' movies I've seen while watching that channel. While most I see are all about how there are a few people and they must kill off some offending monster, this is more interesting and unique among them. Like the Alien Quadrilogy, Deep Rising, Pitch Black, and many other movies that for one made it into the theaters. Code Red has some human verses human action as well as man verses monster. Making it not one of the best, but somewhat enjoyable when you're looking for something that you can just sit down with popcorn alone and watch it. Not something to walk a mile for, but it definitely deserves a bit more credit than what the sci-fi channel can offer usually.

Also, we've all seen those terrible 'horror movies' where the 'old people' get devoured and a the 'young, nice looking people' get to live; such as The Fog. I would definitely rate this movie above many of the horror movies idiots are putting in theaters these days. I'll admit the effects are terrible, but we all know effects do not make a movie, therefore a movie should not be judged by them entirely. If you can ignore a lot of cheesy creatures sucking the life out of people, it is a good film.
