I really wish more people had seen this episode. I am not a regular viewer, and I came across this episode by accident. the Director makes a strong political statement, that was probably overlooked due to the nature of the show. Regardless, Alan Shore's closing statement for Melissa Hughes implied that the US government has been violating our civil liberties. These instances are in fact, real.
I strongly urge all to view the episode and follow up on these subjects: Pier 57 (2004 Republican National Convention- New York), Special Ops/Delta Force (Austin Texas), and Free Speech Zones. All of these instances actually happened, and demonstrate how our government is obstructing or completely ignoring our civil Liberties. Kudos to the Director, I just wish more had watched this episode...
