A masterpiece of sasquatch cinema, "Night of the Sassy" is a must-see for all wishing to view a slightly different take on everyone's favorite creatures of the night.
The plot involves a young couple who go on a normal camping trip--normal, that is, until a local bigfoot decides to stop by for a little midnight romance. What follows is one of the strangest "erotic" montages ever seen in a horror/comedy short - one that will probably haunt my dreams forever.
Those too busy bursting their gut over what is happening on the screen may unfortunately miss the touching undertones of the lonely life of the sasquatch character. Sassy touches and loves the film's heroine in a gentle, almost caring way. He leaves quickly soon after, perhaps fearing what she would think of being loved by such a monster. Was it only a simple fling, or was it possibly a hint of something more? Will the sassy ever find true love? With these questions subliminally being asked of the viewer, it is easy to see how "Night of the Sassy" may be the most moving human-monster love story since Jean Cocteau's "Beauty and the Beast." Yet another great work from a great guy, Greg Carlson, "Night of the Sassy" is most definitely worth a look.
