Review of Dirlandaa

Dirlandaa (2000)
1/10
Simply put: TRASH.
3 January 2005
This film, if it deserves to be called one, makes me hate Mr. Mänttäri for his abuse of money, time, and actors. What he has created (with a million dollar -class budget, a group of famous actors, and a filming crew in Andalucia, Spain) is a series of the worst scenes one could imagine. He has given us monologues which make absolutely no sense, tiresomely long scenes with a stationary camera, and a load of totally nerve-wrecking scenes, such as a 20-minute non-stop karaoke scene, all complete with terrible sound and lighting. Clearly, there never was a script for this film, and if there was one, it should never have been realized. It is nearly impossible to follow the crappy story of the movie, as many of the scenes seem to have no real significance or connection to other parts of the film. Those responsible should be punished.
