As war movies go, pretty good.
3 December 2004
This is one of the better war movies. I am surprised it didn't get more play in the theaters.

It does show the blood, filth and "hell" of war-torn Yugoslavia in quite a realistic way, not quite as internally gutsy as "Saving Private Ryan" but real enough.

From an artistic point-of-view I enjoyed the movie and I can see the reality of love trumping danger as a women clings to the hope of finding her husband in the inferno of a combat zone.

Andie MacDowell is excellent in this role. This very attractive actress is not afraid to go grubby on camera in portraying the part of the determined wife.

Adrien Brody, in a pre-"Pianist" part is superb as an unorthodox, somewhat off-the-wall supporting role as a press photographer.

Well worth seeing.
