Review of Bodyblow

Bodyblow (2003)
10/10
Short but very much to the point
12 November 2004
What can one say about Bodyblow without using all the old cliché's. There were many aspects of this short film that left a viewer wanting more but in itself it was a complete story. The storyline takes you on a journey that leaves you shocked with the typical twist "I never saw that coming" even though you watch it and think that it is the only way it can end. The filming is excellent with great use of slow motion and sound especially in the scene where the story finally unfolds the shock value is enhanced by the excellent direction. The cast are great. What I love about this film is the use of the actors rather then the spoken word to express whats going on in the minds of the characters. The music score is good understated but strong enough to hold your attention without distracting you.

Cant wait to see more from this young film maker. Only hope that the next film is longer then 8 or so minutes
