Interesting and extremely informative

"Held Hostage in Columbia" is a short documentary film that features interviews with 3 Americans being held hostage by the FARC, a Columbia terrorist organization.

Even though I tend to get bored in interview-style documentaries, this film was certainly the exception. Having never been exposed to this side of a hostage crisis, I was intrigued by the day-to-day life of the 3 hostages. The film also sheds light on some misconceptions about how the American government handles hostage crises.

Having followed hostage situations closely on the news before, I watched the intensity of how the government handled them; it seemed the hostages would be home very, very soon, within days. But, to watch this film, and see hostages who have been there for months, even years, is shocking.

An informative film; get a chance to see it if you can.
