Warning: Spoilers
Possible SPOILERS:::::: This short is awesome. I stumbled upon it in a video compilation of other shorts called "Smash Cuts". This one was the best on there by far. It starts of on a peaceful Sunday afternoon and ends in a bloodbath. The dialogue was great. The conversation seemed like authentic old lady speak, which adds to the surprise greatly. The camerawork was really masterful, as well. It wasn't just some film school grad trying not to violate the 180 degree rule around a card table for 10 minutes; it really made you feel like you were in some old grandmother's house. Ancient pictures on the wall, deliberate cookie arrangements, the casting of the fluffy white cat gave it really thick and flavorful mise-en-scene. Even the late afternoon lighting in the room made it seem like you could almost smell the 40 year musk. Now the special effects were pretty good, it wasn't anything super-special, but they didn't over do it (like so many low-budgets tend to do). Most importantly, the effects were tasteful (within the realm of blood and guts).
