Review of Suspicions

Suspicions (1995)

Arrested Development

Mix together a decent script, a low budget, clumsy direction, and amateur actors and what do you get? Ta-da, Suspicions. It's too bad some professionals couldn't have handled this production, but as a film school project (which is what the final product looks like) it would probably get a "C" for effort. A group of nice-looking college kids get together at an extremely remote (natch) cabin for some partying, and instead begin to uncover the truth about the death of one of their group a year earlier. One by one, they are murdered until . . . I won't spoil the plot, and it really isn't that bad. This is more enjoyable to watch than, say, "Urban Legend," but I know that's faint praise. The kids try hard, but a couple of the death scenes are really botched to the point that the viewer gets lost. Once again, I've seen worse. If you love mysteries, you'll probably like this.
