The Crow (1994)
My favourite film ever!!!!
9 December 2000
I have loved this film since I first saw it in 1996. Brandon played the character of Eric with shear precision. His role here was unlike anything he had done before (Laser Mission, Rapid Fire, Showdown in Little Tokyo). He did not use a great deal of martial arts in this film which made the fight scenes spectacular. Instead of attacking with skill he fights with raw emotion.

Michael Wincott was great as yet another bad guy (Alien 4, Metro, The Three Musketeers). He was very sinister and comical at the same time, something rare among actors.

Ernie Hudson was good as Albrecht. Rochelle Davis was superb as Sarah (which suprised me to find this is her only film).

Production designer Alex McDowell deserves alot of credit for the set designs in this. Graeme Revell mastered another great soundtrack (The Crow : City Of Angels, From Dusk Till Dawn). Also, Alex Proyas did a magnificant job directing this. It has a dark and depressing setting which suits the story. If Pressman and Most hired Proyas to direct the sequel instead of Tim Pope it would have been alot more successful.

All things considered it has to be the greatest film ever. It is a shame Brandon Lee had to die just as his career was about to sky rocket. He was a great actor. He will be missed by both the movie industry and his devoted fans.
