One of the better Jason chapters
17 July 2004
In my opinion, this is one of the better chapters of the hallowed Friday the 13th series. The opening is awesome with the bringing Jason back to life in the cemetery. Thom Matthews makes a decent upgrade for the Tommy Jarvis character when you think we could have had to witness Corey Feldman fighting off Jason again, which would have made this sequel quite brutal. The camera loved Jennifer Cooke, who was red hot, her father the sheriff in the flick made a good hard ass, and the idiot camp counselors that get slaughtered made the grade for me. We even got to see a more human side of the hockey masked villain when he didn't butcher the room full of kids he was in. How anyone could put this behind Jason in Manhattan, Jason in space, and the paramedic Jason in part 5 is beyond me. Kudos to Jason Lives, definitely a decent Friday to me.
