"Excalibur" is the best film ever to show the King Arthur/Camelot legend. With great performances, powerful music, and good sword-fights, this is a real treat to watch in high school English class, where I had first scene it. Nigel Terry does exceptionally well as Merlin, sans the pointy magician's hat! And current popular actors like Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, and Gabriel Byrne appear in the film in small roles. If you want to watch a simple version of the Camelot story, watch "The Sword in the Stone" by Disney, but if it's raw action and elborate settings is what you want, watch "Excalibur". You won't regret it.
