Poll: Face-Off: R.I.P. Peter Tork of The Monkees

Musician Peter Tork born 13 Feb, 1942 as (Peter Halsten Thorkelson) of the musical group and TV show The Monkees (1965) passed this day, February 21, 2019.

He was a folk musician before being selected for the Monkees TV show in 1966. Also he was the most accomplished musician of 'The Monkees' and played 12 different instruments even though they used studio music. Despite this he was actually the first Monkee to play an instrument on one of their records ("Papa Gene's Blues"), after writer/producer Michael Nesmith insisted Peter be allowed to add a guitar part. After the show was cancelled Peter formed a band called Shoe Suede Blues. In 2009 he contracted cancer that he battled with for 10 years until he succumbed to it. Thoughts and Prayers here, go out to all his friends, family, and many fans.
