Poll: Face-Off: Rotten Tomatoes vs. Metacritic

Besides IMDb, Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes are the top two websites to which people turn to see aggregate scores of movies' ratings but, whereas IMDb's scores are based on users' ratings, Metacritic's and Rotten Tomatoes' main scores are based on reviewers' ratings. The basic idea is the same but ratings are sometimes different because their methodologies differ; of these two, which has more influence over the movies you choose to see?

    Rotten Tomatoes (Rotten Tomatoes weights its rankings depending on how many reviews a film has. That’s why 'The Wizard of Oz' with an average score of 99 from 111 reviews beats 'Citizen Kane,' which has an average score of 100 from 75 reviews, for the top spot. 'The Third Man' rounds out the three films with the best ratings.)

    Metacritic (Metacritic works a bit like Rotten Tomatoes but its aggragate score is based on ratings that are weighted in a way that gives some, supposedly more renowned, reviewers and publications more influence over the score. 'Citizen Kane,' 'Casablanca,' and 'The Godfather' are its highest movies, in that order.)

    I am sometimes influenced by one or more specific critics' thoughts on a film but I don't give any weight to scores from Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic.
