Schoolhouse Rock! (1973)
The Body Machine
When you look down the street, what do you see?
The street is overflowing with a lot of machines.
Now I don't mean the buses, the trucks or cars.
I'm talking about the people,
Yeah, you know who they are.
Bob Dorough, who wrote and sang many of the songs, including all of Multiplication Rock, has recently passed away at the age of 94. Starting in the 1950s in the jazz scene, Dorough worked closely with Miles Davis before starting Schoolhouse Rock in 1973. He was still performing live as late as three weeks before his death. You can see him playing one of his most successful songs, Devil May Care, in 2016, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7kKSSjGJZ8 and to see Bob's TEDx on Schoolhouse Rock go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i2AN2CC-60.
Which of these iconic songs from the original run of Schoolhouse Rock is the best as far as teaching listeners the most?
