Once Upon a Time is bringing back the doctor. In a recent Twitter Q&A, David Anders, who plays Doctor Whale (aka Victor Frankenstein) on the ABC fairy-tale drama, confirmed that he will be returning to Once Upon a Time at some point in Season 5. When a fan asked if we would be seeing Whale again sometime soon on the series, Anders responded with a yes, writing “The Doctor will be in.” Anders made his Once debut back in the show’s third episode and last appeared on the series in Episodes 19 and 20 of Season 3, as Whale assisted in the delivery of Snow White and Charming’s son, Neal. He joins Meghan Ory (Red/Ruby) and Jamie Chung (Mulan), who will also be returning to Once Upon a Time this season. In addition to his work on Once, Anders’ past TV credits include Alias, Heroes, Necessary Roughness, and The Vampire Diaries.
