Gerald Butler is currently in talks to reunite with ‘Den of Thieves’ filmmaker Christian Gudegast for the comedy action thriller ‘Empire State.’
The logline reads; When the Empire State Building comes under attack by a military contractor hellbent on revenge, Navy Seal turned NY firefighter Rhett (Butler) and NYPD Tactical officer Dani (yet to be cast) must put aside their relationship troubles as they work to rescue hostages and save the famous landmark.

The script was written by S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk) and Brian Tucker (Secret Invasion).
Butler and his GBase partner Alan Siegel will be working with their fellow Plane producer Marc Butan from MadRiver on the project. The development of the project is being co-financed by Leonine Studios, with Leonine’s Quirin Berg and Alexander Janssen serving as executive producers.

Exclusive: German major Leonine is extending its long-term partnership with Los Angeles-based industry vet Thomas Augsberger and his Eden Rock Media banner via a multi-year consulting deal.
Eden Rock Media will continue to advise Leonine on licensing U.S.-produced features and series for German-speaking territories and continue to work on third-party TV acquisitions for Leonine’s English-language international sales division.
