The late Satish Kaushik had an illustrious career as an actor and director, but his last movie, Kaagaz 2, doesn’t do justice to his legacy. Like the previous installment, Kaagaz 2 is also a courtroom drama talking about a societal issue. The message is sincere and relevant, but V.K. Prakash’s weak direction and the caricaturish dialogue leave a bitter aftertaste. The characters in this world behave like they’re written by a toddler, and the low production value along with the poor soundtrack impacts the movie a lot.

Monday was move-in day for the writers of CBS’ Fire Country who spent the morning unpacking boxes in their new (larger) office space on the Radford lot, an upgrade from the crammed bungalow/trailer they occupied last year, possibly in recognition of Fire Country ending the 2022-23 as the most watched new broadcast series.
It was also a return-to-work day for the 11-member writing team (and support staff) of the firefighter drama on the day the first writers rooms reopened after the five-month WGA strike. It is led by showrunner/executive producer Tia Napolitano as well as executive producers Joan Rater and Tony Phelan who co-created the series with star/executive producer Max Thieriot.
As they all gathered around the table in their new writers room for the first time just after lunch, the group shared their thoughts about the strike and starting work on the new season after a...

New Delhi, July 7 (Ians) As the Indian startup ecosystem goes through a turbulence amid corporate governance concerns being raised, Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath on Friday said the total addressable market size for startups in the country could only be around 10 crore (100 million).
Addressing the gathering at the startup conclave organised by Money Control in Bengaluru, both the founders stressed that investors and founders may have overestimated the potential size of the Indian market.
“The actual monetisable market size is a subset of 100 million. India is a developing country and evolving very fast, but as of now it is a subset of 100 million,” said Kamath.
According to PhonePe co-founder and CEO Sameer Nigam, even with an annual active user base of 300 million, only 100 million would likely be buying PhonePe’s various financial services products.
“People are projecting revenues and not margins and that is the fundamental problem. The fear...

Updated, 1:00 Pm: Today’s scheduled hearing for Rust script supervisor Mamie Mitchell’s lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and other producers has been rescheduled for September 28. Judge Michael E. Whitaker moved the hearing to give the plaintiff the option and time to file an amended complaint.
Mitchell, who was standing next to cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when Hutchins was fatally shot with a prop weapon fired by the actor in October. Mitchell alleges extensive negligence on the New Mexico set and that the scene Baldwin was rehearsing never called for him to fire the weapon.
Previously, May 27: A Superior Court judge in Los Angeles has ruled that Mamie Mitchell, the script supervisor who was standing next to cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when she was fatally shot with a prop weapon fired by actor Alec Baldwin on the Rust film set, can seek punitive damages from some of the producers who sought to have the damages stricken.
