The season finale for Survivor 46 has nearly arrived, and an intense TV promo has been released.
Only five people were left after another blindside happened in the final six.
Q Burdette got voted out with an Immunity Idol still in his pocket. He finished in sixth place and took a spot on the Survivor 46 jury.
It has become a season of people wasting their advantages, unknowingly giving many Survivor fans exactly what they wanted, a season without advantages.
But there are still some big moments ahead, including a Fire-Making Challenge to help decide the final three.
The Survivor 46 season finale arrives on Wednesday, May 22. It’s a three-hour installment, with the final segment covering a pizza party in Fiji. No, there’s no Survivor Reunion Show this year.

Venus Vafa shared some thoughts about her experience at Ponderosa on Survivor 46, and Soda Thompson disagrees with her story.
Survivor 46 featured Venus and Soda on the same tribe – a tribe that found much early success at winning challenges.
The ladies seemed destined to go far in the game, but Soda got blindsided with an Immunity Idol still in her pocket to become the first jury member.
Venus also got blindsided with an Idol, even though it happened a few episodes later. It meant that Soda was waiting at Ponderosa when Venus was sent there a few days later.
Ponderosa is the name of the place where players are stationed before the game begins and after they are voted out of the game. It’s supposed to be a fun place to spend time, rehashing what has happened that season without the stress of gameplay.

A rogue vote for Kenzie Petty happened at the latest Survivor 46 Tribal Council.
The castaways had a difficult choice with only seven people left in the game, leading to some drama.
For much of Survivor 46, Episode 11, Q Burdette was the target for elimination. Again, he became a smokescreen for what people were doing.
Maria Gonzalez also had people speaking her name after she won a pizza feast at the Immunity Challenge and took Q with her.
But Maria was safe with her Immunity Necklace, and Venus Vafa made people suspicious of her behavior. She got voted out, but it wasn’t unanimous.
Venus later revealed what she felt ended her game, and it wasn’t going home with an Immunity Idol in her pocket.
But who voted for Kenzie Petty at Tribal Council?
Venus received five votes, Venus voted for Q, and someone secretly voted for Kenzie.

(Warning: This post contains major spoilers for the Season 40 finale of “Survivor.”)
The 40th season of “Survivor,” a.k.a. “Survivor: Winners at War,” came to a close with a supersized finale on Wednesday that saw one competitor walk away with a $2 million check and become the long-running CBS competition’s newest two-time “Sole Survivor. “
Tony Vlachos was the player with the honor of winning “Winners at War,” having previously been crowned the champion of Season 28, “Survivor: Cagayan.”
“Survivor: Winners at War” featured 20 legendary winners from the first 39 seasons of “Survivor” returning to compete against each other in the 20th anniversary edition of the competition. These winners included Vlachos, Natalie Anderson, Tyson Apostol, Danni Boatwright, Sophie Georgina Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Yul Kwon, Sarah Lacina, Amber Mariano, “Boston” Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Nick Wilson and Ethan Zohn.

It seems like only yesterday the 20 returning “Survivor” champions returned for an epic clash in “Winners at War,” but now we’ve already reached the Season 40 finale. Heading into Wednesday’s three-hour event, only five castaways remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos. But there were 14 players living on the Edge of Extinction who were itching for their chance to return to the game: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Jeremy Collins and Nick Wilson. The 20th contestant, Sandra Diaz-Twine, quit after being voted out on Day 16.

Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina and Michele Fitzgerald are the leading candidates to win “Survivor: Winners at War,” as discussed in a new video recap with three Gold Derby superfans. Senior editors Marcus James Dixon and Susan Wloszczyna and contributing writer Kevin Jacobsen are all backing a different horse going into next week’s finale. Marcus thinks Michele, Susan is picking Sarah while Kevin is going with Tony. Who makes the most compelling case? Watch the lively discussion in the video chat above.
Wloszczyna is still backing her favorite, Sarah, because as she puts it, “I think she manipulates her cohorts Ben [Driebergen] and Tony more than they manipulate her. I think she’s the brains behind the operation more than them, but she lets them think that they are.”

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War” only eight former champions remain in the main game while 11 others inhabit the Edge of Extinction awaiting their last chance to leave the jury and re-enter the competition. Last week, “Cagayan” winner Tony Vlachos dominated the game from all angles, putting him in a power position as the game nears its close, but placing an even bigger target on his back as he remains only one of two players in the game without a vote cast against them.
In the coming weeks Tony’s biggest job will be keeping the eyes off of him and on other players, but that may prove difficult now that he’s betrayed the trust of his closest ally, Sarah Lacina. Tony successfully maneuvered a vote to narrowly oust Sarah’s righthand woman, Sophie Clarke, without telling her. The move promises to fracture the cop alliance, possibly pushing...

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Tony Vlachos still has yet to receive a single vote at tribal council. Considering how much of a known threat he was heading into this epic 40th season, that is quite the accomplishment indeed. When this New Jersey police officer originally played in “Survivor: Cagayan,” his cutthroat attitude and penchant for lying made him one of the most slippery villains to ever win CBS’s reality TV show. He returned in “Survivor: Game Changers,” but his reputation got the best of him and he was the second player voted out.
“I’m on probation,” Tony joked in this season’s premiere when he first stepped foot on the Dakal beach. He desperately wanted to find a hidden immunity idol, but he knew if he disappeared he’d be on the chopping block. Tony’s tribe first went to tribal council on Day 3, but...

Last week on “Survivor: Winners at War,” the final 10 castaways seemingly divided into two groups of five, with Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina, Sophie Clarke, Ben Driebergen and Nick Wilson on one side and Jeremy Collins, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Michele Fitzgerald, Denise Stapley and Tyson Apostol on the other. Jeremy peaced out at tribal council thanks to his “safety without power” advantage, leaving his group at a numbers disadvantage they simply couldn’t overcome. In the end, Tyson was sent to the Edge of Extinction (again). Did Jeremy and Kim’s group rebound this week, or did Tony and Sarah’s group continue their dominance?

Who would have thought going into “Survivor: Winners at War” that Tony Vlachos would be a frontrunner to take home another victory? His chaotic gameplay in “Survivor: Cagayan” was a perfect confluence of events that led to a (somewhat) unexpected win and it seemed unlikely he would ever be able to replicate such success in future seasons. That much was clear when he returned for “Survivor: Game Changers,” where he immediately became a target after running around the jungle doing all of his classic Tony antics and was voted out in the season premiere. Now, the 46-year-old police officer has switched up his game a bit and found himself a real contender to actually win this current all-winners season. Let’s look at four reasons why Tony deserves to win “Survivor: Winners at War.”

“Survivor: Winners at War” sees 20 winners return to duke it out. It’s the greatest crop of contenders the game has ever seen. In my weekly “Battlelines” recap I will diagnose the casualty and declare who I think won the previous episode’s battle and who is best positioned to win the war. Please feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments below.
Casualty
Adam’s idle quest sees him off the podium
What a wild season for Adam Klein! His frenetic gameplay got him into plenty of trouble. But his weakness was also a strength. His fast-paced adaptability saw him survive the first tribal of the season and navigate his way through the tribe swap to the merge. It is also saw him win the turbulent “Millennials vs Gen X” season which had switching alliances, idol plays and a rock draw. It was probably his undoing though.

And then there were 10. No one on “Survivor” could have prepared themselves for what’s about to happen in next week’s highly anticipated loved ones episode. In the past, a single friend or family member was allowed to visit the island to boost the contestants’ spirits and give them a little love. But as this is “Winners at War,” the reality TV show stepped things up dramatically by bringing on entire families. “This is a fantasy come true,” weeps Tony Vlachos as he embraces his wife and daughter. Season 40’s loved ones episode airs Wednesday, April 15 on CBS, but you can watch the preview trailer above right now.

Each week after an episode of “Survivor” has aired, host Jeff Probst allows Entertainment Weekly to ask him some burning questions about what transpired during the show. Given that this is an extra-special season pitting former winners from the past against each other and that the introduction of fire tokens as a kind of currency to buy advantages, food and comfort has influenced the game, matters can get complicated.
That might be why Jeff himself had to issue a correction after Wednesday’s episode about what he told EW last week. It turns out the immunity idols that Rob Mariano and Natalie Anderson bought with tokens before one of the dwellers on Edge of Extinction would have a chance to get back in the game weren’t voided after Tyson Apostel won the post-merge challenge.

“I made one too many mistakes,” Adam Klein sighed after being voted out during Wednesday’s episode of “Survivor: Winners at War.” In his exit interview from the Edge of Extinction, this “Millennials vs. Gen X” champion continued, “Three strikes and you’re out in this game. The thought that there was an idol at tribal allowed me to play more aggressively than I should have and it cost me.” Adam’s elimination was a not a shocker as he was Gold Derby’s odds-on pick to go home for the past several weeks in a row.

“Survivor: Winners at War” sees 20 winners return to duke it out. It’s the greatest crop of contenders the game has ever seen. In my weekly “Battlelines” recap I will diagnose the casualty and declare who I think won the episode’s battle and who is best positioned to win the war. Please feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments below.
Casualty
Wendell sent to ‘kick it’ on extinction
When the guys on the Yara tribe turned on each other, it was likely going to spell trouble at the merge. It burnt bridges with people from their old tribe and they didn’t have many other connections. And it put Wendell Holland on the outs this week. The vote could have easily been Nick Wilson, but Wendell’s relationship with Jeremy Collins put a target on his back. This season on “Survivor,” connections (even perceived ones) have proven a detriment.

Sophie Clarke wasn’t quite a legend tier “Survivor” champ heading into “Winners at War,” but that might just change by the end of this season. Starting with the fourth episode of the season, Gold Derby users have expected Sophie to be the champion of this all-winners season and our users haven’t budged since. Now, with 11 players including Sophie left in the game, the “South Pacific” winner is looking better and better to be cashing that $2 million check at the end of the game.
Sophie has a 31/10 chance of winning this 40th season of “Survivor,” according to our odds. Sophie got into a majority position on her tribe from the jump and stealthily called the shots in the shadows throughout the pre-merge. She was instrumental in last week’s merge episode, leading the charge to take out Wendell Holland. Sophie currently has more no. 1 votes than all other players on this cast combined,...

The upcoming ninth episode of “Survivor: Winners at War” looks like it’s gonna be scramble central, and we can’t wait. Following the elimination of Wendell Holland after the merge, only 11 castaways still remain in the running to win the $2 million prize: Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Adam Klein, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson. “This is a high-stakes game and all hell breaks loose,” announces Adam in CBS’s latest preview trailer (watch above).

Every week “Survivor” host Jeff Probst analyzes the most recent happenings on “Winners at War,” and this time around he focused on Wendell Holland being voted out of Wednesday’s merge episode. “I thought Wendell had a little swagger this season, and I think it worked against him,” Probst declared in this week’s video recap (watch above). Wendell was ousted by a 9-3 vote over Adam Klein, so he now must live on the Edge of Extinction and await his chance to return to the game.

“I’m captive right now, but I’m plotting a way to escape this wretched prison that they call the Edge of Extinction,” declared Wendell Holland just moments after his elimination from “Survivor: Winners at War.” This former winner of “Survivor: Ghost Island” was voted out of the newly merged Koru tribe by a 9-3 vote over Adam Klein. “Once I get out of here I’m gonna do what I need to do,” Wendell promised in his end-of-show exit interview. “The war is not over.”
Everybody except for Michele Fitzgerald (Wendell’s former girlfriend) and Nick Wilson (Wendell’s second in command) voted to send him packing. The other nine castaways saw Wendell as a strategic threat, particularly when it came to his close bond with Jeremy Collins … who nonetheless wrote Wendell’s name down when he didn’t get his way to oust Nick.

“Drop your buffs!” That’s right, Wednesday night was the highly anticipated merge episode of “Survivor: Winners at War.” Eleven castaways made it to this all-important juncture in the game: Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson. However, they would soon be joined by one of the voted-out players from the Edge of Extinction. After all was said and done, who became the first castaway from the merged tribe to have their torch snuffed by Jeff Probst?

Adam Klein continues to be the no. 1 most predicted boot on “Survivor: Winners at War.” The 28-year-old “Millennials vs. Gen X” champion has had a difficult road to the merge, ticking off allies and having plans backfire in his face. But the fact remains that he did make the merge, even as Gold Derby prognosticators have been expecting him to be voted out for the past two weeks. Will the third time be the charm for our predictors?

The 11 remaining castaways — plus one Edge returnee! — are about to hit a Survivor milestone. Ladies and gents, drop your buffs: It’s time to merge!
As fans know, the first joint tribal council can be a make-or-break vote for many players’ games. Merges re-shuffle the deck, as former tribemates are reunited, new friends and foes are made and loyalties either get shifted or bulldozed all together. Historically, merges set the stage for some of the show’s best blindsides, so strap in and hold on tight. This week’s episode (airing Wednesday at 8/7c on CBS) is sure to bring some fireworks.

We’re midway through the landmark 40th season of “Survivor,” and one thing is clear: 60-minute episodes just aren’t enough. Too much good material is being left on the cutting room floor — case in point, an entire pizza challenge went unaired from last week’s episode. (Adam Klein confirmed on social media his Yara tribe won the yummy reward comp.) Recently we asked “Survivor: Winners at War” viewers whether they were okay with 60-minute episodes, and only 5% said yes. The other 95% demanded more, more, more, but their poll results were split between wanting 90-minute editions and two-hour shows.

Heading into Wednesday’s seventh episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Gold Derby readers predicted that the two castaways most in danger of being voted out were Adam Klein of Yara and Yul Kwon of Sele. Adam Klein is likely to be the first champion from a recent season to be voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War,” according to Gold Derby odds. “Survivor: Winners at War” is about to send two castaways to the Edge of Extinction, according to the previews. Only one tribe will win immunity, sending two to Tribal Council where they will each vote somebody out. Gold Derby odds predict that Adam Klein of the Yara tribe and Parvati Shallow of the Sele tribe will be the unfortunate victims of this week’s episode. Both have been in precarious situations so far this season and it looks like they both might miss out on the coming merge at the last minute.
Adam currently has 15/2 odds of being booted, say our Gold Derby prognosticators. Adam started off “Survivor: Winners at War” on the wrong foot by scurrying off with Denise Stapley on Day 1, which made him an early target, and it’s been a rough go since. He then made things worse by playing both sides in Episode 3, where he narrowly survived by one vote.

Get ready for the first double elimination of “Survivor” Season 40. Host Jeff Probst breaks the bad news to the 14 remaining castaways in the latest “Winners at War” preview trailer (watch above). “Only the first tribe wins immunity,” he tells the three groups before their immunity challenge. “Both of the losing tribes will vote somebody out of this game.” Last week the Dakal and Sele tribes prevailed at the immunity challenge and only the third tribe, Yara, had to visit tribal council. The coldness of backstabs and blindsides is what keeps many “Survivor” fans watching year after year. In a game that requires individuals to rely on each other, only to break promises to get to the end, personal betrayals are inevitable. We’ve been hooked on the backstabbing since Season 1, when Kelly Wiglesworth voted out her former ally, Sue Hawk, resulting in an epic jury speech from Sue about refusing to give her a drink of water if she sees her in the real world dying of thirst. Tour our photos above of the most devastating backstabbing moments in “Survivor” history.

Some of our favorite blindsides involved players outwitting each other and having some fun with it. One example includes James Clement in “Survivor: China” being voted out by his alliance with two hidden immunity idols in his pocket.

When “Survivor” premiered on May 31, 2000 it was unlike anything seen before on American television and no one anticipated it’d still be going strong 20 years later with a legendary 40th season. In order to keep its large audience returning year after year and to maintain an element of surprise with the contestants, the show has undergone a number of transformations and injected countless “twists” into the game format. Tribe swaps, hidden idols, legacy advantages, exile island and fire tokens are just some of the phrases we’ve come to associate with the show. Here we detail 14 of the show’s most jaw-dropping twists that changed the game forever (see above).

Rob Mariano may be one of the most well-known “Survivor” players of all time, but that wasn’t enough to save him from an early exit on “Winners at War.” As Gold Derby predicted, Boston Rob became the sixth person voted out of Season 40 during Wednesday’s tribe swap episode after he found himself on the new Yara beach with two former enemies (Ben Driebergen and Adam Klein) and two complete strangers (Sarah Lacina and Sophie Clarke). After having his torch snuffed, Rob bequeathed his two fire tokens to his best buddy Parvati Shallow, bumping her up to four total. That number now ties her with Natalie Anderson, making Parvati and Natalie the richest players in the game.

In my weekly “Battlelines” recap I will diagnose the casualty and declare who I think won the episode’s battle and who is best positioned to win the war. Please feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments below.

Tyson Apostol, with a perfect pitch, is taken out
Tyson entered the episode in a desperate situation. He was one of the biggest threats in the game with perceived connections on the other tribe. But he had the perfect pitch. He talked to the other big threats about banding together. This included two-time winner Sandra Diaz-Twine and larger than life Tony Vlachos. He pointed out the tribe was being controlled by those with few connections who could more easily float under the radar. With Tyson gone,...

It’s looking like the end of the road for the Robfather, according to Gold Derby users. “Boston” Rob Mariano is being predicted as the next boot on “Survivor: Winners at War,” following this season’s first tribe swap. Rob has unexpectedly managed to skate by through most of the pre-merge, but his legendary status will likely bite him sooner rather than later, at least according to prognosticators here at Gold Derby.

In CBS’s latest sneak peek video for Wednesday’s fifth episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Rob Mariano sounds off on the impending tribe swap. “This is the part of the game that I really don’t like too much,” he declares soon after host Jeff Probst tells the 15 remaining players to “drop [their] buffs.” As Boston Rob reminds viewers, he’s been on the wrong side of a tribe switch before that ended up costing him the game. It all worked out in the end, though, as he’s a winner thanks to “Survivor: Redemption Island” and is now competing for the record-high prize of $2 million.
