William Morris Endeavor want nothing to do with Billy Cosby or a sexual assault case against the much-accused comedian.
In paperwork filed in LA Superior Court yesterday, WME asserted that they should not be a co-defendant in Linda Ridgway-Whitedeer’s claims that the man once known as “America’s Dad” forced her to perform oral sex on him back in 1971.
Having first went public with the alleged assault in 2015 as dozens of women came forward against Cosby, the plaintiff’s civil suit of September this year says that “at the time of the sexual assault, the William Morris Agency knew, or should have had knowledge of Defendant’s repeated acts of sexual assault.”
Now, the agency that Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell created out of the 2009 melding of William Morris and Endeavor proclaims they had “no control” over what did or did not happen 52 years ago.

Bill Cosby has been sued again for sexual assault, this time in Nevada under a newly-enacted law that eliminates the statute of limitations for civil cases.
The nine women bringing the suit are Janice Dickinson, Lise-Lotte Lublin, Janice Baker Kinney, Lili Bernard, Heidi Thomas, Linda Kirkpatrick, Rebecca Cooper, Pam Joy Abeyta and Angela Leslie.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for Nevada, accuses Cosby of using his “enormous power, fame and prestige” to target each of them. The suit alleges the assaults took place between 1979 and 1992 in Nevada. Each of the plaintiffs maintain that Cosby either drugged them, or sought to do so. You can read details of their claims here.
In a statement to NBC News, which broke the story, the entertainer’s spokesperson accused the women suing Cosby of being motivated by their “addiction to massive amounts of media attention and greed.”

Nevada’s new state law removes the statutes of limitations for sexual assault cases and has allowed multiple women to come forward and sue Bill Cosby, 85, for allegedly raping and drugging them.
Nine women in Nevada filed a lawsuit against The Cosby Show star for alleged sexual assault that happened between 1979 and 1992 in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe homes, dressing rooms and hotels.
“For years I have fought for survivors of sexual assault and today is the first time I will be able to fight for myself,” Lise Lotte-Lublin said, who is one of the women suing Cosby. “With the new law change, I now have the ability to take my assailant Bill Cosby to court. My journey has just begun, but I am grateful for this opportunity to find justice.”

Bill Cosby faces a new sexual assault lawsuit, this one in the state of Nevada. A case in the name of nine women was filed in the U.S. District Court for Nevada, alleging that the disgraced actor and comedian exercised his “enormous power, fame and prestige” to isolate and sexually assault the individuals named in the case.
Per NBC News, a group of the women will speak in an interview on “NBC News Daily” on Thursday. Pam Joy Abeyta, Lili Bernard, Rebecca Cooper, Janice Dickinson, Linda Kirkpatrick, Janice Baker Kinney, Angela Leslie, Lise-Lotte Lublin and Heidi Thomas are named in the case.
Cosby was convicted of a criminal sexual assault charge in Pennsylvania in April 2018. However, in 2021, the actor was released from prison after spending nearly three years behind the bars; the conviction was overturned by the state Supreme Court. The actor, now 85 years old, has discussed plans for a comedy tour.

Five women have filed a lawsuit against channel NBC and actor Bill Cosby under a New York state law that temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for older sexual assault claims. The women alleged on Monday that Cosby either raped them or forced them into sexual acts. Four of the allegations date from the late 1980s or 1990, when the actor was at the height of his fame as the star of ‘The Cosby Show’ on NBC. The fifth allegation involves Cindra Ladd, a former Hollywood executive who has accused Cosby of raping her in 1969, reports ‘Variety’.
One of the plaintiffs is Lili Bernard, an actress who guest starred on ‘The Cosby Show’, and who first came forward with her allegation at a press conference with Gloria Allred in 2015. Bernard filed a separate suit against Cosby in New Jersey in 2021.

Detailing eerily familiar alleged modus operandi on the part of the man once known as “America’s Dad,” two former The Cosby Show actresses and three other women on Tuesday sued Bill Cosby and NBCUniversal for sexual assault and battery in New York state court.
“Plaintiffs were all sexually battered, assaulted, and abused by Bill Cosby as a part of the same conduct, occurrence, plan, or scheme that was perpetrated, conducted, organized, and/or performed in New York and other states by Bill Cosby and his associates and enablers,” claims the complaint from Lili Bernard and Eden Tirl, Jewel Gittens, Jennifer Thompson and Cindra Ladd, citing the once-incarcerated comedian repeatedly using his “enormous power in such a nefarious, horrific way.”
Adds the 34-page filing by attorneys Jordan Merson and Jordan Rutsky in the Empire State’s Supreme Court: “Over the course of several decades, Bill Cosby engaged in the serial...

The next sexual assault trial against former film producer and co-founder of the Miramax studio – Harvey Weinstein, is set to begin next week in Los Angeles.
It involves an entirely new set of charges, separate from the monumental New York trial that put the movie mogul behind bars for 23 years when he was convicted of rape and sexual assault in early 2020, reports Variety.
In Los Angeles, he faces 11 counts of rape and sexual assault, stemming from charges from five alleged victims. At the same time, Weinstein is continuing to appeal his New York rape conviction and preparing to defend himself from additional assault charges against him in the UK.
According to Variety, Weinstein’s trial will run at the same time and in the same courthouse as the rape case against ‘That 70’s Show’ actor Danny Masterson. In New York, producer Paul Haggis’ rape trial, and a courtroom battle between Kevin Spacey and Anthony Rapp,...

Five years ago, the story that had long been whispered in the halls of agencies and studios, as well as on film and television sets, finally became public. A series of bombshell articles revealed that Harvey Weinstein harassed and assaulted dozens of women for decades and used his power to bully them into silence.
Weinstein’s fall was the fuse that ignited a revolution. That upheaval turned things around for the better, and culture has been forever changed. And yet, the entertainment industry still has a long way to go to untangle a complex web of decades of bad behavior. In an interesting turn of events, the fight for change that began nearly five years ago with those initial stories will be litigated once again in courtrooms across America in the coming weeks.
Sexual violence cases demonstrate the slow arc of justice and the many delays and detours it can take to achieve meaningful progress.

Bill Cosby and his lawyers were denied a request for a retrial in the sexual assault case tied to an incident from the 1970s at the Playboy Mansion, according to a ruling from a Los Angeles Superior Court judge from Tuesday.
“Cosby has failed to establish he received an unfair trial or that insufficient evidence existed to establish his liability for Plaintiff’s harm,” Judge Craig Karlan said in the ruling. The court had heard arguments at the Santa Monica Courthouse on Sept. 23.
Cosby in June lost a lawsuit brought by plaintiff Judy Huth, who had alleged that Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1975, when she was 16 years old. Huth claimed that Cosby instructed her to say that she was 19 if anyone asked. The actor and comedian was previously deposed in the case in October 2014.

(Updated with Gloria Allred statement) Bill Cosby will not get to re-litigate a sexual assault civil case involving a minor from the 1970s, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge says.
“Cosby has failed to establish he received an unfair trial or that insufficient evidence existed to establish his liability for Plaintiff’s harm,” Judge Craig Karlan said in a September 27 ruling. The decision denies the man once known as America’s Dad’s desire for a retrial on the decades-old claims by Judy Huth.
The ruling by the Lasc judge came fairly quickly after hearing arguments on September 23 in the Santa Monica Courthouse.
Attorneys for Cosby had sought to have Karlan overturn the June jury decision against their client, based primarily on timeline inconsistencies in Huth’s case. The Gloria Allred-represented Huth initially had claimed back in 2014 that Cosby assaulted her in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion when she was 15 years old.

A judge has denied Bill Cosby’s motion for a new trial in the case of Judy Huth, who accused him of sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16 years old.
In a ruling issued Tuesday evening, Judge Craig D. Karlan rejected Cosby’s arguments that the trial had been unfair and that Huth had not proved her case. Cosby’s spokesman said that he will appeal.
A jury found Cosby liable in June for assaulting Huth and ordered him to pay 500,000 to compensate for her psychological harm.
Huth testified that Cosby brought her and a friend to the Playboy Mansion in 1975, a few days after meeting them at a public park. She told the jury that Cosby got her alone in a bedroom, tried to put his hand down her pants, and then pulled down his sweatpants and forced her to masturbate him.

Lawyers for Bill Cosby argued Thursday that Judy Huth’s revision of details of her case — namely, the year she was sexually assaulted — unfairly denied the comedian the chance to investigate and interview witnesses who could have corroborated his defense.
Jennifer Bonjean, representing Cosby, argued that the 11th-hour correction warrants a new trial. A month before a jury found that Cosby assaulted Huth when she was 16 years old at the Playboy Mansion, Huth said that the incident actually occurred in 1975 and not 1974 as she initially alleged.
Bonjean detailed how no discovery was conducted for the new time period. If she had known, she said she could have potentially been able to present numerous witnesses identified in visitor records that were discovered after the jury was already selected to refute Huth’s account of events.
“Mr. Cosby was greatly prejudiced because of the late...

Two women are suing George Foreman alleging they were raped by the boxing legend in the 1970s when they were teenagers.
In a pair of lawsuits, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the women said their fathers worked with Foreman, who started grooming them as children. They claimed they were assaulted in California years after initially meeting him. They each seek upward of 25 million.
Foreman denied the allegations. “Over the past six months, two women have been trying to extort millions of dollars each from me and my family,” he said in a statement. “They are falsely claiming that I sexually abused them over 45 years ago in the 1970s. I adamantly and categorically deny these allegations. The pride I take in my reputation means as much to me as my sports accomplishments, and I will not be intimidated by baseless threats and lies.

After a civil jury found that Bill Cosby sexually abused Judy Huth in 1975 when she was a 16-year-old minor, Cosby’s team is calling the outcome an “astonishing victory,” yet pledging to appeal the 500,000 verdict.

The verdict is in for Judy Huth's sexual assault case against Bill Cosby. Nearly a month after the civil trial began, a jury in California found the Cosby Show star, 84, liable of sexually assaulting Huth at the Playboy Mansion during the '70s when she was a teenager, according to court documents obtained by E! News. The jury—who deliberated for two days last week and started anew on June 20, when one juror with a prior commitment had to be replaced by an alternate—awarded 500,000 to Huth in damages. Cosby did not attend the trial in person, though he has denied Huth's allegations. In a statement to E! News, Gloria Allred, whose law firm...

A civil jury found that Bill Cosby sexually abused Judy Huth in 1975 when she was a 16-year-old, ordering him to pay 500,000.
The verdict ruled in Huth’s favor, which her attorney, Gloria Allred, hailed as a win toward “real change,” although no punitive compensation was awarded.
Huth, now 64, accused Cosby of luring her and a friend to the mansion a few days after meeting them in a park. She alleged that Cosby got her alone in a bedroom, pulled down his sweatpants and then grabbed her hand and used it to masturbate himself, forcing her into a sexual act.
“I was elated,” Huth said outside the courthouse, reacting to the verdict and telling reporters that she is grateful for the jury. “It’s been so many years, so many tears, it’s just a long time coming.”

A jury has found for the plaintiff Judy Huth in a lawsuit against Bill Cosby that accused him of sexual assault.
The jury awarded the now 64-year-old Huth 500,000 in addition to ruling in her favor.
“Today our client Judy Huth won real change,” said attorney Gloria Allred, whose firm represented Huth. “Because she fought Bill Cosby, one step at a time, for over seven-and-a-half years. And she proved with the jury’s verdict that Mr. Cosby did sexually assault her when she was a minor. And he should be held – and was held – accountable for what he did to her.”

In a strange turn of events, the jury in a Bill Cosby civil lawsuit must re-deliberate and start over from scratch on Monday to decide verdicts on sexual abuse allegations against the actor-comedian.
The Associated Press detailed the strange technicality on Saturday, in which jurors — after two days of deliberations — reached answers on nearly all nine of the questions put before them, save for one. But before the last decision could be reached on Friday, deputies in the Santa Monica Courthouse required the judge to clear the courtroom by 4:30 p.m. that afternoon because the courthouse has no budget to pay the deputies overtime.
However, Judge Craig Karlan had promised one juror she could leave after Friday in order to serve a prior commitment. But when the courthouse was cleared, the judge stood by his word that she would not have to come back on Monday, meaning that the...

The jury in Bill Cosby’s civil trial in nearly reached a verdict on Friday afternoon, but will instead have to start their deliberations over again on Monday morning.
The unusual twist came at the end of the second day of deliberations in Santa Monica Superior Court. The plaintiff, Judy Huth, has sued Cosby for allegedly molesting her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16, in 1975.
The jurors were asked to answer nine questions, including whether Cosby sexually molested Huth, whether she was under 18, whether Cosby had reason to know that, and how much damages she should be awarded.
At the end of the day on Friday, the jury informed Judge Craig Karlan that they had reached a verdict on eight of the questions. The only unanswered question pertained to whether Cosby acted with “malice, oppression or fraud” — which would trigger punitive damages if they answered yes.

Jurors in the civil trial of Bill Cosby asked a series of questions on Thursday afternoon, but had yet to reach a verdict by the end of the day, and will return on Friday morning.
Cosby is facing a lawsuit from Judy Huth, a 64-year-old woman who alleges that he molested her after luring her to the Playboy Mansion in 1975, when she was 16.
Huth is suing under a California law that extends the statute of limitations for claims of childhood sex abuse, allowing accusers to pursue their lawsuits well into adulthood. One aspect of that law, allowing a three-year window for plaintiffs to pursue older claims, is being challenged by several dioceses of the Catholic Church in California.
The jurors’ questions suggested they had considered many of the issues they were asked to decide. In one question, the jury asked how many had to agree on a damages award — suggesting...

More than seven years after Judy Huth filed a lawsuit alleging Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her when she was a minor, Huth and Cosby’s lawyers delivered vastly opposing closing arguments in court on Wednesday. Huth’s attorneys implored the jury to hold Cosby accountable for his actions, while Cosby’s team said Huth lied about many aspects of her case and sought to discredit her claims altogether. The jury is now expected to begin deliberations on Thursday.

After a two-week trial, a plaintiff’s attorney urged jurors on Wednesday to hold Bill Cosby financially responsible for sexually molesting a 16-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion 47 years ago.
Nathan Goldberg argued that Cosby should be forced to pay millions of dollars for the assault on Judy Huth, who is now 64.
“He hasn’t paid for what he did. He’s gotten away with it,” Goldberg argued. “It’s your job to hold him accountable.”
The 12-person jury is scheduled to begin deliberating on Thursday in Santa Monica Superior Court. Huth filed the suit in 2014, but her case was delayed for several years by Cosby’s criminal proceedings. The 84-year-old comedian was freed last year after serving nearly three years in prison, when his conviction was overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
In her closing argument, Cosby’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, alluded to the slew of other allegations that have been made against him.

A reporter for the National Enquirer testified Friday that she was angered when the publication refused to run a story about a sex assault allegation against Bill Cosby in 2005.
Robin Mizrahi was called to the witness stand by Cosby’s defense lawyer in a civil trial underway in Santa Monica. Judy Huth is suing Cosby for allegedly assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in 1975, when she was 16 years old.
Mizrahi interviewed Huth about the incident in 2005, but the story never ran. She testified that Cosby’s lawyer threatened “a large lawsuit,” and the publication ultimately agreed to run a “sweetheart” interview with Cosby instead.
“I was angry that he killed my story,” she said.
Mizrahi, who left the tabloid in 2010, wrote about the episode in an essay for The Latest in 2018.

Appearing visibly shaken with lips trembling, Judy Huth told jurors in a California courtroom Tuesday that Bill Cosby was waiting for her outside a bathroom at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 and beckoned her to a bed by patting the mattress next to where he was sitting. She was 16 years old at the time. Cosby was 37.
“He wanted me to sit down, and I sat down. I was scared,” Huth recalled, publicly describing the alleged attack for the first time since suing Cosby in December 2014. “He tried to lean me back.

Judy Huth cried on the witness stand Tuesday as she recounted her visit to the Playboy Mansion in 1975. Huth, now 64, is suing Bill Cosby for allegedly luring her to the mansion and molesting her in a bedroom when she was 16 years old.
“I was mad,” she testified, at times wiping her eyes with a tissue. “I felt duped, fooled, let down.”
Huth filed her lawsuit in 2014, under a California law that extends the statute of limitations for victims of child sexual abuse. The suit has been on hold while Cosby’s criminal proceedings played out in Pennsylvania. Cosby was freed from prison last year after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his sexual assault conviction.
The civil trial began last Wednesday in the Santa Monica courthouse. Cosby, 84, has not been in court and is not scheduled to testify, though portions of his deposition are expected to be played for the jury.

Wielding his celebrity status and a “sense of invincibility,” Bill Cosby sexually assaulted three teenagers in a string of attacks in 1975 using a “common plan” and clear “intent,” lawyer Nathan Goldberg told jurors Wednesday during opening statements in the long-awaited trial involving accuser Judy Huth.

For a second time this month, Bill Cosby is raging against insurance company Aig for settling one of the lawsuits against the now imprisoned comedian once known as “America’s Dad.”
“Aig’s conduct is despicable and I can only imagine how terribly they’re treating their policyholders, who don’t have my means and my resources,” Cosby said in a statement Tuesday in reaction to a confidential deal American International Group made with Chloe Goins over an alleged assault at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 2008 when Goins was 18.
“It was proven by the Los Angeles Police Department that I was not at the Playboy Mansion on the date in question, and was not in the State of California,” the much accused Cosby added from his Pennsylvania cell, where the officially labeled sexual predator is serving 3 to 10 years for the 2004 rape of then Temple University employee Andrea Constand.

Just a couple of weeks after the Superior Court of Pennsylvania rejected Bill Cosby’s appeal petition in the 2004 rape case that put the once beloved comedian behind bars earlier this fall, a Los Angeles judge today inked in a new trial date for an assault of a minor that allegedly occurred 45 years ago.
In a hearing Tuesday in Santa Monica, La Superior Court Judge Craig Kaplan declared that the trial for Cosby’s supposed 1974 attack on then 15-year old Judy Huth would start on October 7, 2019.
That will be just over a year into Cosby’s three to 10-year incarceration stint in the Keystone State for the rape of then Temple University employee Andrea Constand. Found guilty in a retrial this spring on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. The man once called “America’s Dad” faced up to 30 years in prison, but the charges were consolidated into at a sentencing hearing in late September.

But that’s not the end of the road for 80-year-old Cosby’s legal battles. In addition to sentencing, the comedian also faces a number of civil cases.

Janice Dickinson
Cosby faces a defamation lawsuit by model Janice Dickinson, who says the comedian drugged and raped her in Lake Tahoe, California, in 1982.
Dickinson, represented by Lisa Bloom, alleges she met with Cosby for dinner to talk about a possible job and get some advice on starting her singing career. According to Dickinson, Cosby offered her a glass of red wine, which she turned down. But Dickinson says that when she complained about menstrual cramps, Cosby offered her a pill, which she accepted. She said at one point she blacked out.
“The last thing I remember was blacking out and Cosby mounting me like the monster he was,” Dickinson told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield in December 2014.

She said she woke up the next morning knowing she had been raped because her vagina physically hurt.
Dickinson, who testified at Cosby’s retrial, is suing for defamation, saying that, after she came forward with her claims in 2014, Cosby’s team went “on the attack” against her with media statements branding her a liar.
Cosby’s attorneys have appealed the case.
On Thursday, soon after the guilty verdict on Cosby’s criminal case came down, Bloom tweeted: “What’s next? My defamation case on behalf of Janice Dickinson against Bill Cosby, which we’ve been fighting and Winning for 3+ years, goes on. Mr. Cosby, I’m looking forward to taking your deposition.”

Chloe Goins
Cosby is also facing a lawsuit by former model Chloe Goins.
Goins alleges that the comedian slipped something into her drink when she attended a party at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 and then abused her in a bedroom.
Goins says she blacked out that night, waking up naked in a bedroom as Cosby was licking her toes. She said that Cosby then pulled up his pants and left the room.
Cosby denied the allegation, insisting he was in New York the night in question.
Goins sued Cosby in 2015 but later dismissed her lawsuit in early 2016 without explanation.
However, the former model filed suit again in May 2016, adding Playboy founder Hugh Hefner as a defendant as well as Cosby. According to court documentation seen by TheWrap, the case is currently pending.

Judy Huth
Judy Huth says she was 15 when she met Cosby in 1974 at a Los Angeles park. According to a December 2014 court filing, Huth and her 16-year-old friend told Cosby how old they were, but that didn’t stop Cosby from inviting them to his tennis club and later to the Playboy Mansion, where Huth said he molested her in a bedroom suite.
Though the statute of limitations in Huth’s case expired, she was able to file in 2014 because she was a minor at the time of the alleged assault.
Cosby argued in a countersuit that Huth tried to sell her story to the tabloids a decade ago, which means she was aware of the psychological damages at the time and therefore the statute of limitations is over.
Huth’s attorney, Gloria Allred, told TheWrap on Thursday: “Judy Huth’s case is pending in La County Superior Court Santa Monica. We return to court next month on May 23, to provide the court an update on the outcome of the criminal case. Judy alleges in her lawsuit that she was 15 years old when she was the victim of sexual abuse by Bill Cosby at the Playboy Mansion.”
Defamation Lawsuit by Seven Women
Cosby is also facing a lawsuit in Massachusetts from seven other women, who are suing the comedian for defamation (Cosby has a home in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts). The women say Cosby sexually abused them decades ago and then defamed them when his agents, in their denial of the accusations, branded them liars.
The plaintiffs are Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie.
Cosby is seeking to have their suit dismissed.
A lawyer for Tamara Green told TheWrap on Thursday: “The case has been stayed (put on hold) pending the resolution of the criminal case.”
