Recently, I wrote an article about how Ron Howard’s Cocoon was hard to find in any format. It came out on DVD many years ago but went out of print and has never been issued on Blu-ray. You also can’t find it digitally on any platform. This is a perfect example of why you should always hang on to your physical media, as I’m lucky enough to own the now out-of-print DVD of that movie, and while it’s far from an ideal copy, it’s something.
But that got me thinking. What other movies are hard to find? I opened up the forum on Twitter, and I was shocked by how many prominent films aren’t available digitally and have gone out of print on disc, making them all the more precious for collectors. At the same time, there are some happy endings, such as Martin Campbell’s No Escape,...

Peter Farrelly’s Ricky Stanicky concerns a trio of best friends who create an imaginary person to blame for their misdeeds. As the years go by, Dean (Zac Efron), Jt (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler) continue using “Ricky” as an excuse any time they want to skip, say, a family gathering or sneak out on a boys’ weekend. In such moments, they simply tell their significant others that Ricky really needs them right now.
That’s a solid enough setup for a film, a kind of coming-of-middle-age comedy in the vein of Jeff Tomsic’s Tag, where the characters’ commitment to a childhood tradition ends up jeopardizing their adult lives in the process. But where the antics of Tag’s characters effectively captured the stupid joy of acting like your younger self while hanging out with your oldest friends, Ricky Stanicky is stupid in a much less joyful way.

On the morning of Feb. 6, “Drake” was trending on X (formerly known as Twitter); not too unusual for one of the world’s most successful rappers. The reason, though, turned out to be extremely unusual for the pop star and reverberated across the internet for a week – what looked like a video of Drake engaged in a solo sex act was circulating. He hasn’t commented on the video or its veracity explicitly, but he seems to be taking the commotion in stride.

Matt Gaetz’s career in Congress, and life as a free man in America, has been in danger since it was revealed in March that the notably coiffed Maga icon is under federal investigation for sex trafficking a minor. This danger became a little more acute a few months later when Joel Greenberg, Gaetz’s former running buddy who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking the same minor, agreed to cooperate with federal investigators. ABC News reported on Thursday that Greenberg’s cooperation has been … quite extensive.

If you are not familiar with the format of Ru Paul’s Drag Race as a franchise then I need to give you a lesson! The normal series has a group of drag queens perform in a range of challenges to discover America’s next drag superstar but the All-Stars brand of the show gathers those who didn’t win their respective seasons and makes then compete against each other. This also happens weeks, months and, even sometimes, years after the original seasons have aired so the queens have had a chance to improve their overall drag and have more money to do so. This means that the standard on the All-Stars season is a lot higher than the regular season and means that the queens have to work even harder to win (which I didn’t even realise was possible!)

If you believe celebrities are making their money off their good looks, you’d be right. But there’s actually a lot more that goes into filling the bank accounts of the famous.
Fame is a game and only those who know how to play it well stay in the limelight. It’s often said that any publicity is good publicity, and for the celebrities who want to retain their status, the maxim couldn’t be any truer.
You know who celebrities are because they’re always being talked about. They’re household names, they’re the punchline of jokes, they’re the center of attention … and this means that the attention, while full of praise in some respects, can also involve plenty of ridicule.
Celeb life often looks luxurious, and though many famous people do get to spend a lot of time hitting tropical waters and luxuriating in elaborate and decadent lifestyles,...
