The first round of the application process will require a bio, a one-hour or half-hour original script (of any genre), and a short essay. Those who reach the third round will interview with Gauyo and the initiative’s programming chief Heather Daughtry before 10-12 participants are selected.
“This initiative has been a labor of love since its inception and I’m extremely proud of the community of writers we’ve assembled,” Gauya said. “My hope for the program is to continue providing access and...

It's been a long time coming, but we are just one day away from the debut of Legacies Season 3 Episode 1.
The hit drama returns after almost a year off the air, and there are some pressing matters to be dealt with when the episode picks up.
If you watch Legacies online, you know Hope and Landon were in sleep-like states at the close of Legacies Season 2.
Even though it wasn't supposed to be the cliffhanger to end the season, it worked well to give us some time to ponder the possibilities.
The CW has not shed light on what actually happened to the couple, but they did offer up some photos and a logline.
Here is what to expect, according to the network:
Let The Games Begin -- In order to get a handle on some urgencies at the school, Alaric (Matthew Davis) sends the students off-campus for their first-ever field day.

An upcoming episode of Legacies is set to pay homage to the shows that came before it.
The CW has scheduled Legacies Season 3 Episode 3, titled "Salvatore: The Musical," an episode that was set to air as one of the final episodes of Legacies Season 2.
But, as you know, the episodes have been tacked on to Legacies Season 3 due to the Covid-19 pandemic shuttering production for months.
Last year, Legacies executive producer, Brett Matthews, revealed news of the musical in an interview with TV Guide.
"Episode 19 is our grand musical episode," Mathews told TV Guide at the time.
"We try to do a musical a year, and it's a musical that will sort of revisit our legacies -- the legacy of the show, The Vampire Diaries, and The Originals."
It is set to air on February 4th.

#WGAStaffingBoost Yields First Success Stories With Pitch Season Looming As Key WGA-Ata Battleground
The first agentless TV staffing season is underway, a process that has showcased writer solidarity as well as ingenuity with the grassroots #WGAStaffingBoost campaign. As the first staffing success stories start to emerge, the industry also braces for what comes next, with pitch season looming and networks and studios potentially facing a choice that could tip the scales in the current impasse between the Writers Guild of America and the Association of Talent Agents.
While some showrunners still rely primarily on personal recommendations by colleagues and studio executives, there have been cases of unknown, unconnected, up-and-coming writers landing staff writing jobs through the WGA’s Staffing Submission System or #WGAStaffingBoost.
The WGA has not responded to requests for information regarding how many of the more than 1,000 writers who have submitted themselves for staffing through the system have landed jobs, though Julie Plec, executive producer/showrunner of the CW’s drama Legacies,...
