The exhilarating rush of flirtation runs through the beginning of Alyin Tezel’s romantic drama but it’s the slowburn of connection that becomes the focus as they/won’t they tale unfolds. Initially the wintry melancholy of Skye matches the mood of Kira (who is also played by Tezel). She’s supposed to be on the island as part of a loved-up getaway but after splitting up with her boyfriend Aidan (Rory Fleck Byrne) it has become a journey into solitude.
But when she encounters Ian in the local pub, the sparks of attraction are immediately evident. The kinetic camerawork from Julian Krubasik has a heady immediacy that carries us with them as they horse about in the deserted late night streets of the town.

Falling Into Place Photo: Glasgow Film Festival
From the moment that Kira (Aylin Tezel) and Ian (Chris Fulton) meet, it’s clear that there’s something between them that goes beyond just sexual attraction. They have instant chemistry, and every moment of their adventure together on the Isle of Skye is electric. What makes Falling Into Place unusual, however, is that instead of following them as they immediately embark on a romance, we see them part and go back to their separate lives. They spend most of the film apart, and we see how that connection, and the shift in perspective it has precipitated, changes how they relate to everything else they have to deal with.
As well as starring, Aylin wrote and directed the film. Shortly before the 2024 Glasgow Film Festival, where it’s due to screen, I met up with her to ask about that central concept and the process of developing it.

Munich-based sales agency Global Screen has acquired romantic drama “Falling Into Place” for worldwide theatrical distribution. The English-language film is written and directed by Aylin Tezel, one of Germany’s leading young actors, and stars Tezel (“7500”) and Chris Fulton (“Bridgerton”).
The directorial debut is set in Scotland on the Isle of Skye and in London. It is an honest and poetic portrait of today’s 30-somethings caught between the fear of commitment and the desire for self-improvement. Like all great love stories, it is not just about the love between two individuals, but also about the dreams and anxieties of a whole generation.

“Outlander” is giving fans a little more time before they have to say goodbye — and giving subscribers more of a reason to sign up for a full year instead of just a few months. Season 7 of the time-travel romance will air in two parts, Starz said on Wednesday, with the first half airing this year and the second half waiting for 2024.
Season 7, as previously announced, consists of 16 episodes, the show’s highest order count since Season 1. Like Season 1, which aired in 2014 and 2015, Season 7 will be split into two eight-episode bunches — the “Droughtlander” is officially over on June 16. “Outlander” has already been renewed for a final Season 8, which will consist of 10 episodes and presumably air in 2025 or later.
It is currently unclear if the show, based on Diana Gabaldon’s series of historical-fantasy romance novels, will completely adapt the entire saga. Each season of “Outlander” thus far has adapted (roughly) one...

Bridgerton fans have been more than eager to see the Netflix series return to the small screen for season 3. However, everything won’t be all about romance and balls. While Lady Whistledown will undoubtedly still be causing havoc, fans are also bracing themselves for a major death in the new season.
Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton books reveal some major clues.

While many of the core cast of the series will return for season 3, the main characters of the forthcoming season are Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

Netflix’s acclaimed drama Bridgerton no longer follows the blueprint of Julia Quinn’s novels. Instead of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) being the subject of season 3, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) will stand at the center of the drama. Now the show’s creators are explaining why they switched up the order.
Their explanation for the new order makes a great deal of sense.
Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington in ‘Bridgerton’ | Netflix/ Liam Daniel ‘Bridgerton’ show vs. books
Fans were shocked to learn that Colin and Penelope’s romance would be central to season 3. After all, their story is the subject of Quinn’s fifth novel, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.

There are slews of characters in Bridgerton. Though the series primarily focuses on the Bridgerton siblings trying their hand at love in the marriage market, other characters have become just as important. In season 1, fans were introduced to Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker), a distance cousin of the Featheringtons. She arrives in London in the summer of 1813 with several suitors. However, she’s hiding a secret pregnancy.
Marina isn’t a central character in Julia Quinn’s book series, but her presence in the TV show foreshadows her fate.
Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Otis, Rocco, and Prince Shillingford as Baby Oliver Crane and Ruby Barker as Marina Thompson in ‘Bridgerton’ | Liam Daniel/Netflix Sir Phillip in ‘Bridgerton’ is married to Marina Thompson
While Bridgerton book fans may have put this together, TV Bridgerton fans might not know that Eloise’s (Claudia Jessie) eventual husband, Sir Phillip Crane is currently married to Marina Thompson.

Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) will have a new companion in Bridgerton Season 3. For years, she’s had a strong and solid friendship with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). However, Lady Whiseltdown and the events of season 2 have changed all of that. It doesn’t seem very easy to imagine Penelope and Eloise returning to a place of total trust and companionship.
Without her lifelong best friend, Eloise will look to confide in a new companion.

Penelope and Eloise have been thick as thieves since they were younger. However, once Penelope began writing her gossip pamphlet as Lady Whistledown, she began keeping secrets from Eloise. She used Eloise and Bridgerton’s business to support her hidden alter ego.
This all came to a head at the end of season 2 when Eloise uncovered the truth about Penelope.

The timeless Netflix series Bridgerton is based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling books. The 19th-century set show centers on the Bridgerton siblings, who find love in the marriage market. Benedict (Luke Thompson) is the second oldest Bridgerton sibling following Anthony, but he seems more focused on his art and sex affairs than love.
Since fans know they will see Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) love story in season 3, Benedict’s story won’t be placed front and center for quite some time.

Put on your kilts and break out the bagpipes in mourning: “Outlander” is coming to an end. The hit Starz TV series has been renewed for an eighth and final season, the premium cable channel announced Thursday. The news comes ahead of Season 7 of the series, which will premiere in Summer 2023.
The news makes it unclear if the show, which is based Diana Gabaldon’s series of historical fantasy romance novels, will adapt the most recent installment, 2021’s “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.” Each season of “Outlander” has thus far roughly adapted one book in the series, with the upcoming seventh season set to cover 2009’s “An Echo in the Bone” and Season 8 presumably covering 2014’s “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.” That said, Season 7 is set to have an extended 16-episode run, while Season 8 will consist of 10 episodes, so its possible that longer length can help cover all three books.

Chris Fulton stars as Rience in Season 2 of The Witcher. Pic credit: Netflix/Susie Allnut
Season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher saw the introduction of a new character, Rience, portrayed by Chris Fulton.
Rience was a fiery villain — literally and figuratively — being a fire mage.
In Season 2, viewers were introduced to this character as he relentlessly pursued Ciri (Freya Alan).
Rience had been unable to track down Ciri until he heard a particular song by Jaskier (Joey Batey) and then trapped the bard and tortured him to gain information about Ciri’s whereabouts.
Luckily for Jaskier, Yennifer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) turned up and managed to rescue him and they fled from Rience.
Rience’s pursuit will continue in Season 3 of The Witcher but, this time, the character will be portrayed by a new actor.

Watch the teaser for “The Witcher” Season 2 via the video above.
In the clip, you’ll see Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) and Geralt (Cavill), finally together after first meeting at the very end of Season 1, and Ciri asking the witcher if she is his “destiny,” to which he replies, she’s “much more” than that. Geralt then takes Ciri with him to meet his witcher brothers at Kaer Morhen, and begins to teach her how to run, how to hide, and how to fight monsters. Although that last one is something he seems very reluctant to be doing.
If you were hoping for Yennefer content (Anya Chalotra), you’re in luck,...
