Kendall. Robinson. Duker. Ó’Briain. Martin. The fight is On.
The winners of Taskmaster series 11-15 are currently doing sit-ups, drinking pints of raw egg, and running up and down the steps outside Chiswick Library. They’re in training for Taskmaster’s third Champion of Champions contest.
A little reminder of the contenders for this title now, on account of the internet having destroyed everybody’s attention spans, and shrunk our ability to retain information for longer than it takes a toaster to pop.
Champion of Champions 3 Line-Up Sarah Kendall
Representing series 11 is the magnificently-maned Sarah Kendall, Australian comic, writer and actor. She’s technically the dunce of this operation going in with a whole-series points score of just 158, but a dynamite chick like her isn’t about to let that get in the way. The woman’s ready for the apocalypse at all times, do not underestimate her.

What’s your favourite Taskmaster task? Did it result in a delicious failure or a triumphant win? Was it a crafty solution from a cunning mind, or a bonkers, impractical response that could only have come from the brain of John Kearns?
We asked our writers to nominate their favourites, in order (and not including Prize Tasks because that’s already been covered here), and collated the results into the Top 50 below. With 15 series proper, two Champion of Champions specials, and multiple New Year’s Treat episodes, there were approximately 89,000 tasks to choose from, hence a nice, neat 50.
If you’re at all concerned about the scientific robustness of our approach, rest assured that Google Sheets formulas were used in the creation of this list, resulting in an entirely accurate ranking order that cannot be questioned. Well alright, you can question it.
So, what are the best Taskmaster tasks of all time?...

2023 has already given us series 15’s perfect line-up – a gem of a season with Jenny Eclair’s endless joy, Kiell Smith-Bynoe’s cheeky competitiveness, Mae Martin’s cool smarts, Frankie Boyle’s affable bemusement and Ivo Graham’s adorable self-loathing keeping us laughing all the way through to summer.
And there’s not long to wait now until series 16 arrives. The new run of 10 episodes is confirmed to start airing weekly on Channel 4 and Channel4.com from Thursday September 21 at 9pm. That means – interruptions notwithstanding – the series finale should arrive on Thursday November 23, which is traditionally when the next line-up is announced.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The series 16 Taskmaster line-up comes first and back in June, was confirmed as comprising Julian Clary, Lucy Beaumont, Sue Perkins, Susan Wokoma and Sam Campbell.
Let’s have a quick refresher on where we’ve seen the series 16 contestants before:...

Delayed gratification is all well and good, but let’s be honest: we all prefer the instant kind, so it’s a good job that as soon as one series of Taskmaster finishes, the line-up of contestants for the following series is revealed.
Tonight’s Series 14 finale was no different, and we now know we can look forward to seeing Frankie Boyle, Jenny Eclair, Ivo Graham, Mae Martin and Kiell Smith-Bynoe doing very silly things for Alex Horne and Greg Davies in Series 15.
We’ve just said goodbye to Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa, Dara Ó Briain and Sarah Millican as Series 14 reached its climax and Dara Ó Briain was crowned the Taskmaster champion. It was also the first time in Taskmaster history that there was a joint last place, with Fern Brady and John Kearns tying in fourth. It’s been an absolute banger of a series, with unwilling sabotage,...

You never know a person until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes, and you never know a comedian until you’ve watched them walk through a doorway in the longest shoes, hastily fashioned out of drainpipes they found in the Taskmaster shed, and then argued about with Greg Davies for points. Taskmaster is a window into the souls of our nation’s clowns, and here’s whose souls we’ll be nosying into for series 14: Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican!
(No, it’s still not Richard Ayoade. Maybe we should try a gov.uk petition.)
It’s a very solid line-up of up-and-coming comics flanked by two household name comedians, and follows on from the second Champion of Champions special and Series 13’s excellent collection of Ardal O’Hanlon, Bridget Christie, Chris Ramsay, Judi Love (Judi. Love.) and Sophie ‘Don’t call me Ducker’ Duker.

ViacomCBS-owned Comedy Central UK has commissioned two new comedy formats: panel show Guessable and topical TV round-up program Channel Hopping With Jon Richardson.
Tuesday’s Child Television, the production company behind Lego Masters USA, has enlisted British comedian Sara Pascoe to host Guessable, an eight-part series in which two teams compete to identify the famous name or object inside a mystery box. Pascoe will present alongside John Kearns, while Alan Davies and Darren Harriott are on board as team captains.
Channel Hopping With Jon Richardson features the 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown comedian present a weekly digest of the world’s wildest TV. It is made by Rumpus Media, which produces BBC Two’s The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan.
Sebastian Cardwell, deputy director of programs at ViacomCBS Networks UK, said: “These new series will bring a big dose of laughter to our expanding UK slate. With strong formats and...
