The season has been filming in Vietnam for the past few months, with spoilers arriving online about the cast, including elimination results and remaining competitors.
Season 40 features 40 competitors, spanning the 39 years of MTV’s competition series, including OGs and more recent competitors.
Just recently, the cast got trimmed down to 11 people, all vying to win the final for either their first time or another one to add to their list of career achievements.
As of this writing, the number of people in the final, who is in it, and who won is unknown. However, at least one competitor may have experienced a rough exit from the season.
This report will contain spoilers from The Challenge Season 40, set to air later this year on MTV.

The Challenge finalist Jay Starrett debuted a new look, which some fans seem to love and others criticized.
When he appeared on Season 39 of MTV’s competition series Battle For a New Champion, the former Survivor star received plenty of backlash.
That was due to his connection to an alliance orchestrated mostly by his friend Michele Fitzgerald that included many cast members as part of the arrangement.
However, Jay didn’t protect his friend Nurys Mateo late in the game, leading to multiple elimination appearances for Nurys before she could advance to the final.
That led to a falling out between Nurys and Jay, as well as tea spilled during the Season 39 reunion about Jay and their castmate Olivia Kaiser.
Castmates claimed the Season 39 stars had a makeout session on a bus ride despite Jay having a girlfriend off the show.

A day after Disney declared victory over activist investor Nelson Peltz, CEO Bob Iger said the board is proceeding with “urgency” in trying to identify the next chief executive with the “distraction” of the proxy fight over.
“This was decisive in terms of how shareholders voted,” Iger said in an appearance Thursday morning on CNBC from Disney’s Burbank, Calif., headquarters, about the results of the April 3 meeting.
Succession “is the board’s No. 1 priority,” Iger said, saying the board’s search committee to find a CEO successor met seven times in 2023 and plans to meet even more frequently this year. “They’re treating it with a sense of urgency because it is so important,” Iger said. The board is “taking it very, very seriously” because “I’m not going to be here forever.” Iger declined to provide a timeline for the selection of a new CEO; his contract extension...

A vicious proxy war has been erupting between Disney CEO Bob Iger and Trian Partners founder Nelson Peltz over the last three months regarding control of two seats on the company’s corporate board. Prominent figures from the entertainment and business industries have expressed interest in the board fight.
At Disney’s annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, investors cast their votes for the board, and this was supposed to be the pivotal moment. Well, now, it is official: Peltz’s attempt to secure seats on the Mouse House board of directors was dismissed by Disney shareholders.

Investors ultimately voted to re-elect all twelve of the board members, including CEO Bob Iger, capping the most expensive corporate proxy battle in history. Also, note that the stock price dropped after all 12 of the company’s current directors were re-elected at the annual meeting.

It’s official: Disney shareholders shot down activist investor Nelson Peltz’s effort to win seats on the Mouse House’s board of directors. Investors voted to reelect all 12 of the company-backed board members, including CEO Bob Iger, ending the most expensive corporate proxy fight in history.
The voting results for Disney board candidates were announced Wednesday at the company’s 2024 meeting of shareholders, held virtually. Peltz, who heads investment firm Trian Partners, failed to get enough votes in his favor to clinch a board seat.
Horacio Gutierrez, Disney’s senior EVP, chief legal and compliance officer, who oversaw the proceedings at the meeting, said that the preliminary vote tabulations showed Disney’s 12 directors had won reelection by a “substantial margin” over the candidates nominated by Trian and a smaller investment firm, Blackwells Capital. (See the full list below.) He said the final vote counts will be disclosed in subsequent meeting minutes.

The attorney spoke during a keynote conversation as part of The Hollywood Reporter‘s breakfast honoring the industry’s Power Lawyers, an annual event that had gone virtual amid the pandemic and returned to Spago in Beverly Hills this year.

Horacio Gutierrez sits in a well-appointed conference room on the Walt Disney Studios lot overlooking Burbank and the distant San Gabriel Mountains. He started as general counsel at the now-century-old studio in 2022 and in the interim year has seen a surprise CEO change-up, ongoing org-chart overhauls and impending guild contract negotiations. He jokes, “It’s been 13 and a half months, but who’s counting?”
Gutierrez never has been deterred by an uphill battle. “I’ve gone to law school four times,” he says, noting that he first enrolled in his native Venezuela at age 16. “I was a little young, even for their standards.” Then he earned a graduate degree in corporate and commercial law in Venezuela and, after being awarded a Fulbright to study at Harvard University, Gutierrez earned a Master of Laws, sharing classrooms with notables like Barack Obama. The fourth and final round came after a move to Florida,...

President Trump signed the Music Modernization Act into law at a ceremony today at the White House that included Mike Love of The Beach Boys and Kid Rock, two of Trump’s most visible supporters in the music community.
The legislation is a rarity in the an otherwise divided Congress — a measure that enjoyed sweeping, bipartisan support. A slightly different version of the bill also passed the House without a single objection.
The Music Modernization Act is designed to fix some long-standing issues that have grown more urgent, as the recording industry relies more heavily on the revenue from digital music services like Spotify, Apple Music or Pandora. Streaming services now account for 65% of the industry’s revenues in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
