Critics have not been very kind to M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film Glass. While I loved it, a lot of critics didn’t. I have no idea what they were expecting from this movie, but it’s pure Shyamalan, and he delivered a conclusion to his trilogy that is a natural progression of the story he started with Unbreakable.
It looks like this might be another one of those films that the audiences and fans won’t agree with the critics on. Alamo Drafthouse recently hosted a special event where they screened all three films — Unbreakable, Split, and Glass — for the fans, and their reaction to the film was very different from the critics’ reactions.
Glass got a lot more positive buzz from these screenings! Fans seemed to really enjoy it. So, like I said in my previous post today, don’t let the critics decide what you think...

Dakota Johnson made headlines this month for telling Elle that filming Luca Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” messed her up so much that it sent her to therapy, and it turns out viewers might have a similar experience while watching the horror film this fall. As IndieWire’s Jenna Marotta previously reported, Amazon showed the first footage from “Suspiria” during CinemaCon, and the insane reactions to the footage might just be better than the footage itself.
Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” is based on Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic of the same name. The director is adamant his film is not a “remake” of Argento’s movie but an “homage to the incredible, powerful emotion” he felt when he watched it for the first time. Dakota Johnson, reuniting with Guadagnino after “A Bigger Splash,” plays an aspiring ballerina who begins classes at a prestigious dance academy and discovers something evil within the school.

Timothée Chalamet earned his first Oscar nomination this year thanks to his breakout lead performance in “Call Me by Your Name,” and it’s possible the 22-year-old actor will have another nomination under his belt this time next year. Amazon debuted the first footage from its upcoming awards contender “Beautiful Boy” at CinemaCon, and the first reactions from press are overwhelmingly positive.
“Beautiful Boy” marks the English-language debut of Belgian director Felix Van Groeningen, best known for “The Broken Circle Breakdown.” The story is adapted two memoirs: David Sheff’s biography “Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction,” recounts watching his son Nick struggle with a methamphetamine addiction; Nick Sheff authored, “Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines.” Steve Carell is playing David in the movie, while Chalamet takes on the role of the troubled son.
Amazon premiered a scene featuring an emotional confrontation between Chalamet and Carell’s characters.

Universal Pictures debuted the first trailer for David Gordon Green’s upcoming “Halloween” sequel at CinemaCon, and the debut footage did not disappoint when it comes to bloody horror. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the franchise as Laurie Strode, the scream queen role that made her famous, and she was on hand at CinemaCon to debut the footage and tease the project.
“I heard what they were thinking and I immediately said yes,” Curtis said. “First of all, except for ‘Star Wars,’ I can’t think of another movie that the same actor playing the same character 40 years.”
Curtin went on to promise fans the sequel is “going to scare the living shit out of you.”
“This isn’t the piece of shit we made back in the 90s and I apologize for anyone who had to endure it,” she continued. “This movie is hella scary – and you guys please tweet that I said hella.
