The creative team behind the hit vampire web series Carmilla is set to launch a new show. On May 16, Canadian producer Shaftesbury will launch Clairevoyant, a supernatural comedy about a pair of psychics, on its KindaTV channel.
Clairevoyant will star Natasha Negovanlis and Annie Briggs (both of whom have roles in Carmilla) as a pair of roommates who look to make a quick buck by going into the psychic business. Their plans take a turn when Claire, portrayed by Negovanlis, discovers that she possesses honest-to-god psychic powers.
Negovanlis and Briggs raised funds for Clairevoyant via Indiegogo, where they scooped up more than $25,000 from backers last year. As a result, they were able to put together 14 five-minute episodes, which will be released between May 16 and May 30.
“My co-creator Annie Briggs and I became fast friends on the set of Carmilla and came up with the idea while bonding over our mutual fascination with fortune telling.

Carmilla is so hot right now. The cult favorite web series about vampires and romance has landed a book deal from Kcp Loft, an imprint of publisher Kids Can Press.
The book, due out in the spring of 2019, will be the latest off-YouTube venture for Carmilla, which has a devoted audience of fans (who refer to themselves as “Creampuffs”). Beyond the literary world, Carmilla’s stars will reprise their roles in a movie that recently began filming.
Details about the book’s plot are sparse, but it will likely continue to story of Laura (Elise Bauman) and Carmilla (Natasha Negovanlis), who form a devoted partnership even though Carmilla is a vampire. The original Carmilla web series, which was sponsored by feminine hygiene brand U By Kotex, was itself based on a 19th century novella of the same name by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.

A cult hit web series is well on its way to spawning its own feature film. Production has begun on the movie adaptation of Carmilla, the only web series (as far as I know) centered around a lesbian vampire, based off a 19th century novel, and sponsored by a feminine hygiene brand.
Carmilla stars Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis as Laura and Carmilla, the latter of whom has vampiric origins. Ats of the film’s beginning, Laura and Carmilla have settled together in Toronto, but supernatural twists begin to affect both of them, and they must call upon old friends to help them take on a mysterious antagonist.
The Carmilla series first launched in 2014, with U By Kotex coming on as its sponsor. More than 100 episodes have since been produced, with the show’s fans delivering more than 69 million total views.
After it was initially announced last October, the Carmilla movie is now in production.

Two actresses who star together in a well-received web series are bringing their chemistry to a feature film, and if the buzz generated by its trailer is any indication, it will score a sizable audience of its own. Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis, who portray the two lead characters in the web series Carmilla, will be at the forefront of Almost Adults, an upcoming film produced by the Gay Women Channel.
In Almost Adults, Negovanlis and Bauman will portray a pair of best friends who find themselves struggling to keep their relationship together as their lives diverge from each other. The film was initially funded by a March 2015 Kickstarter campaign that ultimately raised $122,056 Cad ($91,999.70 Usd). Production began in May, and at the recent Buffer Festival in Toronto, a trailer arrived.
