Over the past couple years, rock and roll has enjoyed an extremely silly waterfowl-related coincidence: The simultaneous rise of the indie jam band Goose and the Brooklyn punk band Geese. Though these two outfits couldn’t be further from each other in sound or style, they’ve been inevitably conjoined by name. And now, in the craziest fluke, both Goose and Geese have announced the departures of band members in a classic Friday-before-Christmas news dump.
For Goose, they’ll be parting ways with longtime drummer and co-founder Ben Atkind, and...

CoSign alums Geese are now a four-piece band after announcing the departure of guitarist Foster Hudson on amicable terms.
In a social media statement, the band explained Hudson is stepping away to focus on academic studies. “Over the past few months, we have received a number of comments regarding Foster’s whereabouts. We would like to address said comments now,” the New York City indie rockers wrote. “Earlier this year, Foster decided to take a leave from the band to pursue his academic endeavors.”
Geese continued, “Moving forward, Foster will remain at school and Geese will continue as a 4 piece. We wholeheartedly support Foster’s decision to continue his studies and we hope that you will too.”
This past June, Geese shared their sophomore album, 3D Country, which they broke down track by track exclusively for Consequence. See where the single “Cowboy Nudes” landed on our best songs of 2023 list.

Our former Artist of the Month co-produced 3D Country with James Ford. The album came together while the band was in the process of redefining themselves after the buzz they earned right out of the gate. Drummer Max Bassin summed up the album in a statement, saying, “It feels like going to the circus and instead of having a good time, everyone is trying to kill you.”

Renegades, not to be confused with the 2017 action film of the same name, starts on a familiar enough note as retired Green Beret Major Carver getting on the wrong side of mob boss Goram. It seems Carver’s daughter Judy is a local politician and has been leading a clean up the streets campaign and making complaints about Goram’s activities. When Goram had his goons threaten her Carver got involved. And ends up beaten to death for his troubles.
When her father’s military buddies Burton, Peck, Woody, and Harris hear about it they know what needs to be done. These old soldiers are about to fight a new war on the streets of London.
