‘I May Destroy You’ Producer Various Artists Behind BBC Hen Do Comedy
I May Destroy You producer Various Artists Limited has been greenlit for a BBC Two comedy about a hen weekend that goes wrong. Henpocalypse!, from Hullraisers creator Caroline Moran, takes five women who headed out on a weekend of a lifetime to celebrate Zara’s engagement only to be interrupted by the end of the world. They subsequently have to wait it out in an isolated holiday cottage in Wales and, emerging from quarantine into the harsh new post-apocalyptic world, find the male population has almost entirely been wiped out. BBC Head of Comedy Tanya Qureshi described the show as “very funny with an incredible collection of women at the heart of it.” Various Artists was behind Michaela Coel’s smash hit I May Destroy You for the BBC and HBO and has also produced British comedies including Sally4Ever and Dead Pixels.

While Channel 4 cancelled the Raised by Wolves TV show after two seasons, the British sitcom starring Rebekah Staton, Helen Monks, Philip Jackson, and Alexa Davies, may still return. Diablo Cody's Raised By Wolves TV show project with Berlanti Productions has landed at ABC with a script commitment plus penalty, Deadline reports. It is inspired by the British Raised By Wolves TV series, which was cancelled by UK Channel 4 after two series (seasons), earlier this month, prompting sister-creators Caitlin Moran and Caroline Moran (aka Caz) to launch a renewal campaign.Written by the Juno feature film writer, the report says the Us version of Raised By Wolves, "...centers on Sheila Gable, a single parent and one tough mother. Joining Sheila are her dad and five offbeat kids as they try to survive on a shoestring budget in a (not) beautiful Midwestern town." Per Deadline, Cody, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and the Morans are...

Howl at the moon, babies. The Raised By Wolves TV show has been cancelled after its second series (season) on UK Channel 4, but the network's bark may prove bigger than its bite. Radio Times reports Channel 4 has confirmed Raised By Wolves' cancellation, but don't discount the power of YouTube pleas and a catchy hashtag.Sister-Creators Caitlin Moran and Caroline Moran (aka Caz) have launched a tiny but rabid renewal campaign on social media. Below, watch Caitlin's battle cry. Much like Cylons, the Morans have a plan. The sisters invite you to visit their Facebook page, like it and stand with them (or sit, "if it's a long day and your lower back's going..."). The brilliantly funny Raised By Wolves returns this week for a second six-part series.
The first run of Caz and Caitlin Moran's semi-autobiographical, Midlands-set sitcom introduced the Garry family: fast-talking, patio-building Della, bath-farting, Heat Magazine-reading Grampy and kids Germaine (sex pest), Aretha (intellectual), Yoko (psychic), and babbies Wyatt and Mariah.
It was a tale of adolescent sexual awakening, Diy, and self-pleasure to the theme music from Newsnight. And it was ace.
Series two, which starts this Wednesday the 2nd of March at 10pm on Channel 4, promises to have just as many riotous laughs. Here's the new trailer...

Looking for a good book recommendation? Our writers have a few unsung sci-fi, fantasy and horror gems up their sleeves...
Other people. What’s the point of them? They’re noisy and everywhere.
There is one thing they’re especially good at, however, and that’s recommending new stuff. In the spirit of that, we asked our writers to recommend great books that, for whatever reason, haven’t been surrounded by as much fuss and recognition as they deserve.
Nominations came in for personal favourites in fiction, non-fiction, children’s books and graphic novels, so we’ve divided them up into a series of features, the first of which is below, on great unsung sci-fi, fantasy, horror and thriller adult fiction.
Our hope is that you’ll demonstrate your worth as other people by carrying on the recommendations in the comments section below. Thanks in advance.

Could it be? Finally, a decent Raj episode of The Big Bang Theory? Here's our review of The Graduation Transmission...
This review contains spoilers.
8.22 The Graduation Transmission
As bad and as badly treated as all of the characters on The Big Bang Theory are, Raj has more often than not come out the worse. He's the butt of the jokes, the target for slightly over-the-line racial humour and jokes about his sexuality, and he's the odd one out without an on-screen girlfriend.
The writers have done some strange things with the character over the years, rarely settling on one set of characteristics as with the others, and he hasn't evolved quite as well as the other three, either. This week, depending on how you see it, may have been one of Raj's best episodes in ages.
This series has become one about unpleasant people stuck in the confines of their own arrested development.

Raised by Wolves is out to own on DVD on Monday, April 27.

To celebrate the return of W1A, we salute the top 10 comedy characters who talk absolute mother-thumping rubbish…
Yesnobrilliantverygoodverystrong. As satirical BBC mockumentary W1A returns tonight for a triumphant second series, we celebrate TV comedy’s rich lineage of jargon fans.
Drawn from across the political spectrum and from TV’s most biting depictions of the worlds of business, government, technology and the media, these guys are master obfuscators. They're neologism-coiners and proponents of the kind of abuses to the English language that, in a just world, would see them locked up and force fed copies of The Elements Of Style.
From The Thick Of It to Peep Show, Yes Minister, The Office, Nathan Barley, The Day Today, and Drop The Dead Donkey, across the Pond to 30 Rock and Silicon Valley, we present TV comedy's top ten full-of-it jargon-meisters.

Community's latest episode is essentially a half-hour meta-commercial, but that's not necessarily a bad thing...
This review contains spoilers.
6.7 Advanced Safety Features
“I disagree, I think it's a whole new story. I have a beard now.”
Community has always had a knack for integrating branded content while also hanging a lampshade on it, from season two's KFC-funded space simulator to the big sandwich residency that threatened to swallow Greendale whole at the end of season five.
It can't be a coincidence that Advanced Safety Features comes right in the middle of this season, because by tackling branded content full-on, it almost feels like a half-hour ad break. Just as last week's episode could be seen as a sequel to previous similar episodes, Advanced Safety Features directly picks up with the return of Rick, (Travis Schuldt) the corpohumanoid formerly known as Subway.

Raised By Wolves' co-writer chats about mining her childhood for comedy and why The Imperial Death March is the perfect writing motivator...
Tonight, the first series of Caitlin and Caroline Moran's sitcom, Raised By Wolves, comes to an end. Heavily inspired and based on their own adventures growing up in the West Midlands - although this particular writer veers geographically more towards Dudley than Wolverhampton - the six episodes have also given Rebekah Staton in particular a standout role as the kind of mum telly doesn't get very often.
Ahead of the series finale tonight, Caroline put down her pen/quill/word processor/Game Of Thrones boxset to spare us some time to talk about it...
It's a basic question, perhaps, but I'm interested in the answer. How has it been having your own sitcom on the television for the past month? How closely are you monitoring feedback and reaction to it?...

Forces from outer space bring metal to life in Metal Shifters. And you know what? It's not bad...
Welcome back to Mystery DVD Club. The idea behind this is simple: we went and bought a whole host of films that we hadn't heard of before, none of which cost us more than a few pounds. Then, we sent them to a bunch of our writers, without telling them what 'film' they were going to receive. Could we unearth a hidden gem? Actually, we might have done...
It's a tale as old as time. A junk-yard owner builds a 20-foot fully-articulated human-like statue from scrap metal and car parts in a small Idaho town. Meanwhile, some bacteria falls to earth on a crashed satellite and turns out to have a physics-defying ability to move metal. Bacteria 'possesses' statue. Chaos ensues.
