In a city where you can discover a film festival every weekend of the year, perhaps the most unique of such offerings is located in Rockaway, Queens. Taking place just a few blocks from the beach, the 6th edition of the Rockaway Film Festival will occur August 19-August 27, and we’re pleased to exclusively debut the lineup of award-winning documentaries, premieres, live music and dance performances, shorts programmes, and rare repertory screenings.
Organized by Sam Fleischner and Courtney Muller and sponsored by Blundstone®, Istic Illic Pictures, and NYC Ferry, this year’s edition will open at their flagship outdoor theater, Arverne Cinema (constructed using scraps of boardwalk that were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy), with Disney’s famous feature masterpiece Fantasia. The Oscar-qualifying festival will run in cinemas from July 1-10.
Israeli documentary festival Docaviv will run as a hybrid event from July 1-10, with screenings both in Tel Aviv’s cinemas and online.
It will play over 100 Israeli and international documentaries in both on-site and online screenings. All on-site screenings will run in compliance with local regulations at the time.

Love.Love.Love, a short documentary directed by Ftii student Sandhya Daisy Sundaram, won the Short Film Special Jury award for non-fiction at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival.
Set against the Russian Winter landscape, Love. Love. Love. is a film about a universal Russian woman and her big love. It was made as part of Cinetrain, The Russian Winter Project held in Russia in January 2013.
