It’s funny, isn’t it? You wait almost 50 years for a Doctor Who mimic to turn up, and then three appear at once! Here’s Wink Taylor breathing new life into the First Doctor, and we think you’ll agree that he does a good job with it. You’ve probably already heard John Guilor as the First,...

When is the Doctor not the Doctor? Well, when he’s John Guilor, we reckon. Above, you can enjoy a few moments of Guilor’s vocal expertise and comic timing in a brief sketch recorded during a break in recording on an audiodrama. Listen out also for the excellent Cyberman voice by The Inbetweeners’ and Hyperdrive‘s Waen Shepherd....

Regular readers will know that we’re not keen on the pointless celebrations. A 37th birthday really isn’t relevant and certainly not as big a landmark as, say a 50th anniversary. However, it might be argued that 51 is still one year more impressive than 50, despite the lack of similar landmark celebration. With this in...

The good Doctor is not the first time-and-space faring eccentric to have emerged from writers’ imaginations. In the early days of digital technology, we had laser discs, some of which featured interactive movies. The idea was poorly employed sadly, with under-par actors cast in plots they didn’t understand. Some were light gun shooters, while others were detective dramas, and they all had the production values of a cheap Californian porn movie.
