Universal Orlando revealed new details about one of the most highly-anticipated lands in its upcoming Epic Universe expansion park: its very own Super Nintendo World.
Orlando’s Super Nintendo World will be the company’s second such attraction in the U.S., after the Universal Studios Hollywood attraction of the same name that opened early last year and has become wildly popular. The Orlando attraction’s Super Mario Land will have some of the same features as the Hollywood attraction, including a real-life Green Pipe, Mt. Beanpole, Peach’s Castle, Piranha Plants, Goombas, spinning coins, ? Blocks and Bowser’s Castle, where guests can take a spin on Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
One key difference: The Orlando version looks bigger, a benefit for guests not only in the fact that it has additional features, but because one drawback of the fan-favorite Universal Hollywood attraction has been that it’s fairly small and gets crowded quickly.

Epic Universe is coming to Universal Orlando in 2025, and it will have both the Mario and Donkey Kong areas in its Super Nintendo World. Ahead of its arrival in the United States, Universal Japan is set to open its Donkey Kong area this spring. Since it is opening a year ahead of Epic Universe, we now have a look at ride testing of its Donkey Kong “Mine Cart Madness” attraction.
Thanks to a video on YouTube from L.C.A. Studios, we can see various aspects of the attraction and how it will navigate the track and “obstacles.”
The video focuses on areas like a giant barrel where the cart appears to jump the track.
A shortened version that highlights some of the important testing elements was also posted to X via @TokyoGameLife.

After the mega-success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it’s no secret that Nintendo and Illumination are looking to maximize their partnership by adapting more classic Nintendo video game properties for the silver screen. To celebrate Mario Day, which was March 10th (get it? Mar10?), Shigeru Miyamoto, the character’s creator, and Illumination head Chris Meledandri, officially announced another film set in that universe, with an April 3rd, 2026 release date. But, with a Super Mario Bros Movie 2 finally happening, what other Nintendo properties might be getting a movie?
Closer to the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie last year notorious scooper Daniel Richtman, who has a solid track record for sharing information that often pans out, said Nintendo and Illumination were working on various titles. In the original post linked to Richtman’s Patreon, he mentioned the team behind Mario was hard at work on adaptations of The Legend of Zelda,...

Ah, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Truly one of God’s finest creations. After the Nintendo Entertainment System helped rebound the very concept of video games and the Sega Genesis evolved past its limitations, Nintendo released this wonderful 16-bit console to help Nintendo reclaim that top spot. It’s the system that gave us so many classic games and so many classic characters. Characters like Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Mega Man X, Geno, Fox McCloud, Gabby Jay, Ness, and Aero the Acro-bat. Okay, maybe they weren’t all classics.
Still, the Snes is still such a beloved part of gaming history and has a spot in many hearts. Active for about a decade and with such a massive library, there are so many fascinating bits of trivia out there. Here are some interesting facts to celebrate the system that gave us the Rainbow Road.

This article contains minor spoilers for "The Super Mario Bros. Movie."For decades, I've played Nintendo games. They weren't the only ones I enjoyed, of course. I've spent more hours than I like to calculate on darker games like "Ghosts of Tsushima," "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" and "Valhalla." They're a blast, and they let me indulge in my history geek side. However, these aren't games I play to forget the world for a bit. They're very much rooted in the world, full of complex emotions and situations, moral questions about the decisions you make, and full of a lot of dismembering and brutal death.
When I play a Nintendo game, specifically one set around Mario, Donkey Kong, or any of the denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom, I'm not playing it to go deep into a world gone by or murder a whole lot of enemy fighters. I'm playing it to relax.

"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is proving itself to be a crossover hit between Nintendo fans young and old alike. This is yet another modernized feather in the cap for video games-turned-movies. With fun blockbusters like "Mortal Kombat," the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise films, and even a new "Street Fighter" movie in the works, the big screen is prepping itself to be quite the playground for nostalgic gamers.
The main cast includes the most familiar of the bunch: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Donkey Kong, and Bowser. That said, this flick is also filled to the brim with fun references, deep cuts, and interesting character cameos. While some of these appearances are of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it variety, other appearances of these minor icons do play more involved roles. With so many cameos from so many corners of the Mario canon, one must wonder, which distinctive additions are the coolest?...

In Aaron Horvath's and Michael Jelenic's new animated film "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," the title brothers (Chris Pratt and Charlie Day) find themselves whisked away from modern-day Brooklyn into a fantasy world called the Mushroom Kingdom. Said Kingdom is overseen by the benevolent-yet-heroic Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), an interdimensional monarch who cares deeply for the many innocent, mushroom-shaped citizens who live in her charge. She is capable at parkour, a skilled motorcyclist, and an experienced diplomat; over the course of the film, she treks to a neighboring kingdom to request military aid. She has no parents present, so it's a little baffling as to why she is called a princess and not a queen.
In most of the original Super Mario Bros. video games, the Princess was merely a damsel in distress. An evil, fire-breathing dragon named Bowser would kidnap her and keep her in a terrifying distant castle surrounded by lava.

"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is finally in theaters, and it's on like Donkey Kong! Donkey Kong is one of the main characters, and he's voiced by Seth Rogen. As you've likely seen in the trailers, Dk is a bit of a blowhard and a goofball, but what he really wants in life is to impress his dad Cranky Kong (Fred Armisen). When Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), and Mario (Chris Pratt) set off to rescue Luigi (Charlie Day) and beat Bowser (Jack Black) once and for all, they need the help of the Kongs and their army to do so. To convince them, Mario has to beat Dk in an arena battle.
The Kongs is a bit complex, and if it's been a while since you played the games, or it was just all too much to keep track of, /Film is here to assist. Let us...

On Thursday’s “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah addressed the latest news about Britney Spears, who’s “formerly a girl, yet currently a woman,” and her ongoing battle to get control of her life back from the conservatorship run by her father, which prevents her from spending her own money, making her own medical decisions, or choosing her own character in “Super Smash Bros.” (“She has to be Diddy Kong every single time.”)
But on Wednesday, her father’s reign came to an end, as a judge ruled that Jamie Spears had to vacate control of his daughter’s conservatorship. It will be temporarily managed by an accountant until the next hearing, at which point the judge plans to terminate the conservatorship.
“Yes! Britney is free!” Noah cheered. “And props to her fans for making this happen. Because you know who really was ahead of the curve? That ‘Leave Britney alone’ person.

Team Sonic Racing is a formidable karting game with a lot of potential. Here are our hands-on impressions!
For the last few years, Mario Kart 8 has been the undisputed champion of video game kart racing. It's for good reason: the game is basically perfect, a showcase of everything the series has done right since it first appeared on the Snes. But that doesn't mean there haven't been other landmark karting games to give Mario a run for his money. Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing specifically come to mind, and now Sega's latest Sonic endeavor, Team Sonic Racing, may be joining that list.
It's difficult not to make the obvious comparison. On the surface, Team Sonic Racing may very well be a Mario Kart clone with all the bells and whistles offered by Nintendo's racer -- including power-ups, weapons, and even a drifting ability...

The new “Smash Bros.” game will include every single character to ever appear in the fighting series during its nearly two-decade run, Nintendo announced Tuesday during its E3 Direct. Dubbed “Smash Bros. Ultimate,” it comes to Nintendo Switch December 7.
In addition to old favorites, Nintendo is adding some new fighters to the roster, including Ridley from the “Metroid” franchise and “Splatoon’s” Inkling. The game will support a variety of controller options, Nintendo said, including Gamecube controllers (original or newly designed), Joy-Cons, or the Switch Pro controller. All current “Smash Bros.” amiibo figures are compatible with “Ultimate,” and fighter amiibos from other series will also be supported.
“At E3, we’re showing how Nintendo Switch continues to redefine play, with the broadest range of games people can enjoy together anytime, anywhere,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s President and COO, in a press release. “Fans who’ve debated which ‘Super Smash Bros.
