While director Jason Christopher is putting the final touches on his feature film debut, the indie horror flick Down the Road, we were able to snag a few official production stills for fans to dig on in the meantime.
Down the Road stars Shaun Paul Costello, Chris Ready, Chelsey Garner, David J. Bonner, Nikki Bell, Jen Dance, Matthew Nadu, and the legendary Clint Howard. "The film pays homage to films such as Friday the 13th and Halloween," says producer Deven Lobascio.
Down the Road follows a group of college students who end up getting more than they bargained for when they head to the woods for a little downtime only to encounter a revenge-seeking madman hellbent on teaching them why it’s never a good idea to hang out in the woods.

For up-and-coming genre writer/director Jason Christopher, horror has been a way of life for him for as long as he can remember. “I grew up watching horror movies ever since I was a little kid because I would get obsessed with the cover art on the VHS boxes."
Christopher continues, "The art on old-school horror boxes used to be so badass so that’s what got me hooked. I loved the eye candy and my love for horror grew from there. I had always wanted to do a horror movie and had always kept outlines for different ideas but nothing came of it. It wasn’t until my dad passed away that I really wanted to pen one to get out my anger and whatever and that’s how Down the Road started off.”
Down the Road, the project Christopher mentioned, is the writer/director’s own love letter...

It's been a hectic week, Monday we talked to Christopher Smith about his new film Black Death. (11:30-22 minuet mark) Vince and Mike covered in the first part of the show a couple news topics then we talked to the producer and the director of the new Horror film "Down the Road" Deven LoBascio and Jason Christopher....
Not only could these guys inform about the film, but were so fun to talk with. I forgot that they were guest and it was just like talking to friends. Justin stops by for the news portion of the show. The first twenty minuets we sounded like real professional people, then the jokes started. We played Trip The Gimp with Michael J. Below is a donation page that you can not only help Michael J. with his new film Campout Nightmare but you can get your name in the credits.

Whilst sipping a green tea latte in the usual Hollywood Café where I conduct my interviews with aspiring actors and filmmakers, I anticipate the arrival of the mysterious Deven Lobascio. About a month previous, he had contacted me, asking if I would be interested in writing a piece about his latest venture, Down the Road, a classic, slash-‘em-up horror flick starring the anticipated handful of 20-something eye candy. A life-long fan of this undying (or undead) genre, I jumped at the chance. Especially, considering the fact that most filmmakers in the infancy of their career chose the cathartic, self-reflective route of producing films about the girl that got away, or the ever popular coming of age story (myself included). This guy, whoever he was, had chosen fun over function, and perhaps market over martyrdom. But, which one of the thirty to forty-something males meandering in from the uncharacteristically cold La streets would he be?...

Producer Deven Lobascio passed along word about his feature endeavor Down the Road , written and directed by Jason Christopher. Jen Dance, David Bonner, Shaun Paul Costello, Nikki Bell and Brian Gallagher star; look for character actor Clint Howard to rear his head as well. Lobascio tells us Victor ( Friday the 13th ) Miller "mentored" the script. Below you'll find a synopsis and poster. Look for more on this title when it gains distribution A father, Hunter Isth, is rocked by a tragic accident in his life. He fleets town and is no longer seen. Partying teenagers fall victim to a town lunatic. Through out the years the stories become urban legends and more than likely, myths. In present day we meet Jenn, a tough and beautiful girl, who has just been released...

Just yesterday I was talking about why it's wise to stay out of the fucking woods if you don't belong there, but I guess we should be thankful for those unfortunate dolts who think they're heading there for a good time only to become meat for the beast. Hey, it makes for good movie watching!
The latest film to hit our radar is Jason Christopher's terror tale Down the Road starring Shaun Paul Costello, Chris Ready, Chelsey Garner, David J. Bonner, Nikki Bell, Jen Dance, Matthew Nadu, and the great Clint Howard.
"The film pays homage to films such as Friday the 13th and Halloween." says producer Deven Lobascio. To further add to this new slasher's pedigree, Lobascio goes on to tell us that the script for the film was revised and edited by writer Victor Brooke Miller, who penned the original Friday the 13th. Very nice!
