Veteran international film executive Rosa Bosch has partnered with Spanish distributor and sales agency Begin Again Films, joining the company’s international department.
Madrid-based Begin Again Films is known for handling arthouse fare such as doc The Year of Discovery, Zaida Carmona’s Girlfriends and Girlfriends and Nestor Ruiz Medina’s 21 Paradise.
Bosch joins as Begin Again also takes on sales for Anna Cornudella’s The Human Hibernation, winner of the Fipresci Award in the Forum section of the Berlinale 2024.

Néstor Ruíz Medina’s debut feature film “21 Paraíso,” will have its world premiere in the New Waves section of the Seville European Film Festival on Tuesday.
The film then goes to the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, playing its Rebels With A Cause strand, with general release expected in Spain next year distributed by Begin Again Films, which has shared in exclusivity with Variety a clip from the “21 Paraíso.”
The Spanish filmmaker, whose “Baraka” was nominated for a Spanish Academy Goya for best short fiction film, returns to the Andalusian festival with a work that explores the romantic arc of a couple who expose their sexual intimacy for money through OnlyFans.
“I found it very interesting how you can expose yourself on social networks and how it affects your mental health,” Medina says. “I am interested in seeing how this capitalisation of intimacy affected a couple.”

Emphasizing its consolidated position as an important bridge between European creators and cinemagoers, the Seville Festival is expanding its reach with an ambitious sidebar, Essential Voices, to bring together decisive European filmmakers for a discussion forum.
At the same time, the Seff continues strengthening its industrial heft with the announcement of Sevilla Cinema Lab, an initiative which, kicking-off in 2023, aims to promote high-level training for film professionals, as well as the development of film projects in international co-productions. Underscoring the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest’s commitment to fostering young, upcoming talent, its five-year-old Talent Lab (Amtl) for projects in development will be complemented by a new Works in Progress (Wip) section for projects in post.
The new Wip aims to give young creators the tools and opportunity to bolster the promotion of their audiovisual projects and secure local and international distribution.
On July 27 and July 28 in Mallorca, six projects in post-production will compete for €15,000 at the new Wip. Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest’s industry component is backed by Media Europa Creativa Catalunya and organized in collaboration with the Seville European Film Festival, the Gijón International Film Festival and the Albacete Film Festival (Abycine).
