As you undoubtedly know, San Diego’s Comic-Con International happened this past weekend, and I was fortunate to be amongst the tens of thousands of attendees. There was, as always, a mega-ton to see and do, and it was hard to keep the Fomo (Fear Of Missing Out) from getting completely out of control over the 4.5 days of the con. To stay sane, though, at some point you just have to accept that you’re going to miss a bunch, and focus on what you do have the opportunity to see.
This year, one of my main interests was what Nickelodeon was showcasing. Of course, Nickelodeon is always on my radar, and particularly the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, which I adore. But even beyond the coolness that is the Tmnt, this year, Nickelodeon was focusing on its past – in the best way possible. Through its late-night programming block of “The Splat,...

Online music publication Hit The Floor Magazine & Dead Good Films Like Productions have teamed up to create a documentary film unlike anything you have probably seen before. In 2012 Hit The Floor Magazine set out to take party rock star, and all round nice guy, Andrew W.K. around Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, during his appearance at UK’s Hevy Festival, for a fun interview about the animals. What they thought would be an entertaining adventure turned into a dark and surreal journey of confusion, delving deep into inner depths of one of the world’s most mysterious rock stars.

Pink Sock
Stars: Charles Pieper, Jessica Bailey | Written and Directed by Josh Schneider
We often get asked to watch online shorts here at Blogomatic3000, at least 2 or 3 times a week, so it takes something special for us to put fingers to keyboard and cobble together a review. Pink Sock is one such short. Recommended by indie filmmaker Nik Box (Brutal Jesus, Wrath of the Violent Vicar, She’s Dead) in one of his DVD updates on his YouTube channel, his brief discussion of the film was enough to peak my interest and make me visit the official site, PinkSockMovie.com – where the short is freely available to watch online.
With a brief five minute running time, the story of Pink Sock is simple. Yosef (Pieper) is a young man suffering from digestion problems. Unable to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls of food and rapidly losing weight, Yosef thinks...
