Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers of the 2009 version of Friday the 13th, have been sprinkling out details about the remake’s unmade sequel over the years, and today they’re celebrating Friday the 13th with a full kill scene from the script. But first, a little recap.
From what we’ve gathered, the film was set to be a direct sequel to the 2009 remake, but centered on new characters rather than continuing Whitney and Clay’s story. The plan was for the film to be set during the Winter, and its title was The Death of Jason Voorhees.
The writers note, “The script had an extended opening sequence again, this time in winter, then the rest of the movie is the reopening of the summer camp.”
Today isn’t the first time Shannon and Swift have shared pages from the script they wrote, as back in 2017 they tweeted...

Whenever Friday the 13th rolls around, there’s only one proper thing to do, and that’s to watch and talk about Friday the 13th. And yes, I’m aware I’m writing this on the Saturday, but the point still stands.
Amongst yesterday’s conversation surrounding the exploits of Crystal Lake’s most notorious hockey enthusiast were some details about the planned sequel to the 2009 reboot that never materialized, released by script writing duo Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
We talked about it. Ultimately that idea was left behind… because we wanted it for the sequel! Yes, here for the first time ever, can confirm that we had extended flashbacks in the unmade winter sequel with Pamela and Elias. Oh and Pamela was the fucking terrifying one…

The winner of Season 10 of MasterChef has been announced. But that news didn’t come as a surprise to social media followers.
Contestant Dorian Hunter is the champion, but a Facebook post leaked earlier showed her posing with host Gordon Ramsay, plus judges Aarón Sanchez and Joe Bastianich and previous competition winners, including Jennifer Behm (Season 2), Courtney Lapresi (Season 5), Gerron Hurt (Season 9), Whitney Miller (Season 1), Dino Angelo Luciano (Season 8) and Shaun O’Neale (Season 7).
The absence of fellow Season 10 contestants Sarah Faherty of San Diego and Nick Digiovanni from Rhode Island in the picture was the tip-off.
Hunter, from Cartersville, Georgia, is the first black woman to win the competition, coming to the podium in the show’s 200th episode. She wins $250,000 for a menu that included seared sea scallops with cornmeal tuille, sweet corn puree and pickled Swiss chard, an entree of Applewood smoked short rib with potato and...

Jennie Kelley has become the latest chef to be eliminated from the MasterChef kitchen. Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot sent the musician home on Tuesday night after she lost an elimination challenge that involved recreating a dish from the first-ever MasterChef winner Whitney Miller's cookbook. The chefs were instructed to recreate Whitney's crispy catfish with fragrant purple slaw and sweet potato fries, a recipe taken from her Modern Hospitality: Simple Recipes with Modern Charm book. Whitney, who previously told Digital Spy that winning MasterChef was a "dream come true", appeared on the show to help announce the challenge. Jennifer Behm was the chef responsible for choosing the catfish dish over other the alternative choices of barbecued chicken or shrimp and grits after winning the vegetarian mystery (more)...

MasterChef returned to our screens tonight as another batch of home cooks attempted to follow in the footsteps of inaugural winner Whitney Miller (who won a cookbook publishing deal and $$250,000 last year) and impress Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot. Thousands applied for the second season but just 100 amateur cooks were invited to present their signature dishes to the judges. They had one hour to prepare the dish and then five minutes to plate it for the panel. They needed to receive two yeses from the three judges to advance to the next round. Among those who received an apron was former beauty queen Jennifer who got two out of three votes for her coconut curry lentil soup. Although Gordon immediately recognized that she had never been to India because she included carrots, both he and Graham gave her a second chance because of the "delicious" (more)...

At last count, we're pretty sure Gordon Ramsay has 327 TV series on the air. Ok, we exaggerate to make a point, but the famous chef with the foul mouth does seem to be everywhere these days. The latest show is Masterchef, in which Ramsay gives completely amateur home cooks a chance to prove their prowess in the kitchen.
Last season 22-year-old Whitney Miller won $250,000 and the chance to have her own cookbook published.
Think you have what it takes? Open casting calls are taking place on November 6 in Los Angeles at Le Cordon Bleu, 6370 West Sunset Blvd. from 8:00 Am to 4:00 Pm. Plan to be there all day.
You must submit an application, bring a current photo of yourself, and a photo of your best plated dish. For more details and to pre-register visit www.masterchefcasting.com.

The two-hour Finale of Fox’s MasterChef aired last night — it was a busy night for Word-then-”Chef” shows — and because I had nothing to do from 8 to 10, I decided to watch it for the first time and catalog my thoughts on Top Chef’s latest network competitor. Overall, the MasterChef Finale wasn’t bad, but the 2-hour “summer show filler” running time was a little painful, in addition to the show’s trademark characteristic of being incredibly overdramatized to an almost insulting degree, as though we couldn’t possibly sustain interest in a show that doesn’t punctuate every action that occurs with a Thud and the Crimson Tide soundtrack. That said, in the spirit of democracy, here are my specific observations about how the show differed from Top Chef, in both good and bad ways (moooostly the latter). But first, the funniest shot from last night’s Finale:...

MasterChef winner Whitney Miller has revealed that she would love to have her own cooking show in the future. The 22-year-old from Poplarville, Ms scooped the $$250,000 prize, a cookbook publishing deal and the title of 'America's First MasterChef' on Wednesday night's finale of the Fox competition. "I would definitely love to have my own cooking show," she told Digital Spy, when asked about where she wants to take her culinary career. "I've always loved to watch them and the chance to have my own would just be the pinnacle of the experience of MasterChef." The student - who triumphed over David Miller in the finale - added that she was "surprised" (more)...

Whitney Miller, the 22-year-old student from Mississippi, is America's first "MasterChef."
The Southern girl was determined to win, even after she dropped her fried chicken cutlet on the floor just before plating for the "MasterChef" finale on Wednesday (Sept. 15).
She gets on the phone with Zap2it to dish on her win, food and what's coming up for her.
How are you holding up?
Whitney Miller: I'm doing good. It's still trying to soak it all in. I can't believe the finale just aired. I've been waiting for so long for everyone to know. It was about the second week of April that it was filmed.
What do you think about David's comment: "Next to that one, she puts me to shame"?
Miller: To me that's amazing because he was such a talented cook. Competing against him, he had such energy, it hard not to be distracted by him.

The first American winner of 'Masterchef' nearly lost it all thanks to a chicken catastrophe.
In the season finale, head judge Gordon Ramsay chose Whitney Miller, a 22-year-old college student, over software engineer David Miller for the $250,000 prize and cookbook publishing deal.
Both the Millers (unrelated) beat out Sheetal Bhagat and Lee Knaz to reach the final head-to-head competition. There, Whitney Miller almost threw everything away when the fried chicken she'd just cooked slipped off her spatula onto the floor. Ramsay looked horrified, but Whitney managed to re-cook her chicken in just seven minutes.

America's first "MasterChef" is Whitney Miller despite a horrifying 11th-hour error during plating.
On Wednesday's (Sept. 15) two-hour finale, after several grueling weeks of Mystery Box and Individual Ingredients challenges and dreaded Pressure Tests she takes home a quarter million dollars and a cook book deal. She plans on starting a catering business with the money and her newfound fame.
[Note: Check back with Zap2it Thursday, Sept. 15 for our interview with Whitney]
From Four to Two
The journey ends early for Sheetal Bhagat in the first head-to-head competition against David Miller as they both prepare clam chowder, apple pie and veal milanese. Lee Knaz is also out of luck when he goes up against Whitney Miller, cooking eggs benedict, chicken parmesan and cheesecake.
If Dave's going to drizzle olive oil atop traditional chowder and cook milanese in the oven with apple pie and have them come out tasty, those are definitely calculated risks that pay off. Whitney gives us a couple nail-biting moments...

America's first "MasterChef" will be crowned Wednesday (Sept. 15), and as we've seen by the past few episodes, there could be major upsets.
We're talking about Sharone, who has incredible skills and instincts, but occasionally lacks the basics (deboning fish). He fell to the mighty Whitney's baking prowess.
It's a two-hour finale, so get ready for the long haul. This journey has spotlighted home cooks, and it's as much about their skills as it is their story.
Let's see who's left:
David Miller - He's been pretty consistent, never really faltering except once when his team lost, and has two team wins and one individual win, the super-scary challenge when he had to impress three intimidating food critics. The software engineer from Massachusetts started out fairly arrogant and got a dressing down, but has turned out to be a fairly funny dude.
Whitney Miller (no relation) - Have you heard? She's only 22 years old!

David Miller, Whitney Miller, Lee Knaz and Sheetal Bhagat will be the four chefs battling for the prize in next week's MasterChef finale. The amateur cooks won a spot in the show's final stage in last night's episode, which meant that Mike Kim and Sharone Hakman were sent home. The episode opened with the final Mystery Box challenge of the season, which saw the remaining six chefs working with ingredients including a rack of venison, quail eggs, blueberries, potatoes and wine. Sheetal (roasted venison with blueberry wine sauce), Whitney (venison with southern gravy) and Sharone (pan seared venison with blueberry puree) were chosen as the top three and had their dishes tasted by the judges.
