The brand-new Korean drama on Netflix is all about a satirical take on the reality television shows audiences watch on all kinds of small screens. It is a genre of television that brings out the voyeuristic side of people who find fun in peeping into the lives of the contestants who take part in these shows. The whole point of a reality show is to have cameras around the contestant that record their daily shenanigans. The 8 Show is a satirical take on it, and the makers bring in characters with several traits that are ideal for the reality show they had seemingly joined to gain money.

Ryu Jun-yeol, as Bae Jin-su, is the central character of The 8 Show. This show begins with his plight of lacking the financial means to close a debt. Bae Jin-Su is a typical young man with no prospects of living a lavish life.

Nicolas Cage is an actor who always performs his all, but arguably his biggest and most intense performance is the one he won an Academy Award for -- that of alcoholic screenwriter Ben Sanderson in "Leaving Las Vegas." The movie follows Sanderson as he tries to drink himself to death in Las Vegas, Nevada, a task that doesn't seem too difficult to anyone who's been there. He ends up involved in a complicated romance with a sex worker named Sera (Elisabeth Shue), which makes his suicidal tendencies capable of causing collateral damage and means he has to try and decide whether or not he wants to fight for his life after all. It's a brutal, heart-wrenching film and performance by Cage, but one scene in particular really left its mark on the actor and everyone who watched him.

All it takes is one stray comment to unleash the rage of sex-scene discourse. Back in February, "You" star Penn Badgley learned this the hard way. He didn't realize it at the time, of course: Badgley was simply recalling a conversation with series creator Sera Gamble, where he asked if it would be possible to reduce the number of sex scenes in the fourth season. The story was told during an episode of the actor's podcast "Podcrushed," where he explained that "Fidelity in every relationship, including my marriage, is important to me. It's got to the point where I don't want to do [sex scenes]."
Unsurprisingly, that ignited a fiery social media debate as people picked apart his use of the word "fidelity," and argued that "sex scenes are part of the job." Badgley attempted to clarify his perspective, but in typical internet discourse fashion, his additional comments just fanned the flames of controversy.

Penn Badgley is clarifying earlier comments about limiting Joe’s sex scenes in Netflix’s hit series “You”.
After receiving a public backlash for his comments, Badgley recently set the record straight on what he meant when he requested less intimate scenes for Joe on the fourth season of the smash series.
“What I was speaking about wasn’t actually the final product,” Badgley, 36, said while speaking to GQ on Tuesday. “It was sort of like the culture inherent to the production of all movies, but particularly those scenes. It’s like, look, we know that Hollywood has had a history of flagrant exploitation and abuse.”

You star Penn Badgley recently opened up about how he felt the online discourse surrounding his comments about asking for fewer sex scenes in the Netflix hit were “blown out of proportion.”
In February, Badgley revealed on his podcast that he asked showrunner Sera Gamble if they could cut back on the intimacy in You’s fourth season. Shortly after, his comments led to online debate about onscreen sex scenes, with many questioning the idea that sex scenes somehow equated to cheating.
“Fidelity in every relationship — and especially my marriage — is important to me,” the Gossip Girl alum said at the time, “and it just got to a point where I didn’t wanna do that.”
In an interview with GQ, Badgley said that he was taken aback by the reaction to his comments, but he understands how things can be taken out of context on the internet.

Penn Badgley ignited a fiery social media debate in February when he revealed that he now refuses to act in sex scenes. “That aspect of Hollywood has always been very disturbing to me — and that aspect of the job, that mercurial boundary — has always been something that I actually don’t want to play with at all,” he told Variety just as the fourth season of his Netflix serial killer show “You” was launching.
“It’s important to me in my real life to not have them,” Badgley added about swearing off sex scenes. “My fidelity in my relationship. It’s important to me.
