Performances from Lady Gaga and Elton John, Pink, the Black Eyed Peas and others steal the show.

There were plenty of over-the-top moments during Sunday night's (January 31) 52nd annual Grammy Awards, but none of them could outshine Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
Yes, the dynamic duo — who were nominated for a combined 16 Grammy Awards — took home 10 of them, with Beyoncé winning six, including Song of the Year, and Swift snagging four, including the night's biggest trophy, Album of the Year.
"I hope that you know how much this means to me ... that we get to take this back to Nashville!" Swift squealed while accepting the Album of the Year award. "Our families are freaking out in their living rooms! My dad and my little brother are losing their minds in our living room right now!"

Michael Jackson's eldest two children accepted a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their late father at last night's Grammys (31.01.10). Prince Michael, 12, and 11-year-old Paris received a standing ovation as they took to the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center - where their dad's public memorial was held last July - to collect the honour and then paid an emotional tribute to him. Prince said: "We are proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson. "First of all, we'd like to thank God for watching over us for these past seven months, and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support. We would also like the fans. Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him. "Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped many...

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Jan. 31 promises to be music's biggest night ... and also ladies night.
Beyonce Knowles, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga (left) made such an impact 2009, and they're well represented at the Grammy Awards with several nominations apiece.
Besides the usual performances and outrageous fashions (how can she sit in that?), this year's telecast also features a rare appearance by Michael Jackson's children, Prince Michael and Paris, who will accept a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their late father.
If you need to steal away during the festivities, no worries, we'll be recapping all of the show's highlights.
All times are Eastern.
8:00 p.m. - We've been promised some Lady Gaga for the opening, and there she is! She's left behind the Milky Way Galaxy red carpet look and instead is wearing a sparkly turquoise poofy Judy Jetson number with glitter mask to perform "Poker Face.

Veteran rock icon Neil Young has finally won his first Grammy Award, after more that 40 years in the game. The Canadian singer-songwriter took home a Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for "Neil Young Archives Vol. I (1963-1972)" and oft-delayed archives set. He was also celebrated as the Recording Academy's MusiCares Person of the Year award for his work in philanthropy. He's up against other feted songwriters John Fogerty, Prince, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, to be announced during the main ceremony tonight (Jan. 31), 8-11 p.m. Young -- a legend best known...

This year, many new faces are trying their luck in the game and competing with their seniors. Coming from places all over the U.S. and across the pond, some of them have to swallow bitterly as they failed to get their break, but several others succeeded in cracking Billboard charts and becoming one of those sought-after music talents.
Those newbies who have debuted either their single or album from January to December have been selected by AceShowbiz for its 10 Hottest New Music Acts list. Chosen based on their impressive achievements throughout the year 2009, they are expected to continue shining next year.

Drake is dubbed as one of the promising artists this year. In the July record of Billboard Hot 100, his American debut single "Best I Ever Had" climbed to No. 3, and Young Money's song "Every Girl" in which he lends his vocal reached No. 10. Those achievements placed him...

The nominations for the Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday (you should check out the recap of the live nomination show, which featured performances by Nick Jonas and the Black Eyed Peas). It's impossible for the nominating committee to come up with a batch of noms that everybody will agree with, especially considering there are 110 categories worth of music to cover. But there are always a handful of head-scratching moments buried within the list of potential winners. Here are the five nominations that puzzle us.
Silversun Pickups for Best New Artist: Make no mistake: Silversun Pickups are an excellent band, and their 2008 album Swoon was grossly overlooked slice of fuzzy, dreamy rock. But Swoon was the band's second full-length, and they've been kicking around since 2005. How is it that they are a "new" artist? This happens every year, as the criteria surrounding the Best New Artist category only demands that...

The Dunk Ryders boss gives us a rundown of his favorite hometown MCs.
By Shaheem Reid
Trick Daddy
Photo: Dunk Ryders
Trick Daddy is a Miami legend. Any of the cats from the city who dominate radio today — Pitbull, Flo Rida, DJ Khaled — they have to give it up to the man first known as Trick Daddy Dollars. He's been a permanent fixture on the Mia scene, and it looks like he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Trick recently started his own independent label Dunk Ryders, and his Finally Famous: Born a Thug Die a Thug LP should drop in late August or early September. There's also an autobiography and a film by the same name due soon. As we keep rocking with Miami Week, Trick gives us his list of homegrown artists who impacted their city the most. Also, be sure to check out our exclusive 'hood tour with Trick included below.

As we said in our Grammy Predictions, we have a love/hate relationship with the Grammys. But hey, we love music, so we're watching to see what happens. Could be a big year for Lil Wayne (did you see his interview with "Miss" Katie Couric?). Could be a controversial night if Coldplay's alleged Joe Satriani rip-off grabs some hardware ("Viva La Vida" by Coldplay and Satriani's "If I Could Fly"). But plenty of great artists are nominated (M.I.A., Allison Krauss/Robert Plant, Radiohead, Gnarls Barkley, Daft Punk, Brazilian Girls....we could go on), so as always, it'll be worth watching, especially for the performances. Unlike the Oscars, where the show is pretty much all about the host, the Grammys are all about those live performances (remember when Beyonce stole the show with Prince back in 2004?). Hang with us and add to the conversation in the comments!
