Exclusive: Channel 4 has renewed Celebrity Cooking School for a second season for youth portfolio channel E4.
Sony Pictures Television (Spt) and Motion Content Group’s format, in which celebrity non-chefs are pitted against each other overseen by a professional, will enter production later this year and greenlight announcement is imminent, Deadline understands.
The first season was overseen by Michelin starred chef Giorgio Locatelli and saw the likes of Kerry Katona, Melvin Odoom and Shaun Ryder take part. One celebrity was knocked out every week and the winner was First Dates star Laura Tott. Season two celebrities will be revealed shortly.
Former Sony-backed indie Electric Ray developed the format but has since been absorbed by Spt, which is now producing its shows.
Celebrity Cooking School is reflective of E4 controller Karl Warner’s desire to order more factual-entertainment formats following a good year for the likes of Married At First Sight...

Tensions were running high after tonight's X Factor which saw Bupsi and Alien Uncovered leave the show.
Judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini both lost an act each during the first results show of the series, and the pressure seemed to be getting to them.
The pair clashed during an interview with Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom on The Xtra Factor - just jump to around the two minute mark to get straight to the fireworks.
Simon appeared to talk over Cheryl, leading the singer to halt the interview and say to him: "Are you saying something?"
Simon cattily replied: "Are we not allowed to talk?"
He went on to add: "I lost someone as well tonight, you weren't the only one."
It's only the first results show. Will these two even the last the whole series together?...

The Xtra Factor host Melvin Odoom is bringing us backstage gossip from behind the scenes of The X Factor every week...
"Hello all Digital Spy readers and welcome to my first column entry!
"It's an exciting week for me and the rest of the Xtra Factor team as it's the first time we have ever done a live show on Thursday.
"The whole aim of the show will be to get down to the nitty gritty with the contestants and judges, find out what songs they're singing, what they're wearing and get all the behind-the-scenes gossip.
"We went to the contestants' house in North London earlier this week which is absolutely incredible. It has a swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. It's what dreams are made of! They've all been put in rooms together so it will be interesting to see who buddies up with who.

Simon Cowell played a cruel Wildcard prank on The Xtra Factor last night.
Joining his fellow X Factor judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw to announce the lucky act being brought back to the show, he suggested that they announce it at the same time.
But after a countdown, he announced: "Jennifer Phillips!" - leaving Cheryl looking shocked as he smirked: "I'm kidding."
"I'm really sorry if you're watching, Jennifer," said Xtra Factor host Rochelle Humes before the judges announced the name of the actual Wildcard, Monica Michael.
"Look, Monica's come back twice," Simon explained. "I hope some of the other people who were close will come back next year because as you can see with Monica now, there is that possibility.
"But I've got to tell you, I walked away from the show [at the weekend] and I think the guys were the same - in fact, I know they were the...

There was trouble on The X Factor tonight as contestant Mason Noise was booed after getting through to the live shows.
Noise was judge Nick Grimshaw's first choice for his Boys category, but the decision didn't go down too well with the audience, who were quick to boo the singer.
X Factor: Nick Grimshaw sends Mason Noise, Ché Chesterman and Seann Miley Moore to live shows
Despite hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack calling for the jibes to stop, the crowd were keen to show their anger towards Noise.
The backlash against the singer comes after he criticised the show's editing of his audition while at the Six Chair Challenge, before dropping his mic and storming off the stage.
But on tonight's The Xtra Factor Grimshaw promised viewers that Noise will win people over once the live shows start.
"Successful artists always polarise," he said, comparing Noise to Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

It was the final Six Chair Challenge of The X Factor this evening, with two remaining acts for Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Groups and Simon Cowell's Overs.
Emotions ran high - although Adele supposedly dropping a big album teaser in an ad break made people go mad. Digital Spy was watching along and compiled the night's best tweets.
Simon's turn came to choose his six acts, and naturally he was particularly moody:

Release The Hounds host Reggie Yates has revealed that people in television have no idea how ITV2 is allowed to broadcast Release The Hounds.
The terrifying horror game-show - which Yates declared is "bigger and better" this year - sees contestants taking part in various scary games before literally running from a pack of dogs, all in an attempt to win some cash.
"I have people saying to me, 'I don't know how you're getting away with what you're doing', particularly people who work in telly!" Yates told Digital Spy. "They're like, 'How are you getting away with that?' That's definitely the conversation that I'm having on a regular basis."
And Yates admitted that he would never take part in the game himself, saying: "I'd never do it. It's not something I'd ever want to do. I really enjoy the role that I play and I don't see that changing any time soon.

"I'm cacking it."
27-year-old Joseph McCaul is backstage at Wembley Arena waiting for his X Factor audition, and it's fair to say he's feeling pretty nervous. And you'd think if anyone would be feeling alright about performing for the judges it would be him.
After all, Joseph has experience: with his sister Donna he was Ireland's Eurovision entry in 2005, and they toured with Westlife and had three Top 10 singles in Ireland while they were signed to Universal.
"We were on the front cover of all the Irish magazines and the papers," he says. "I just thought it was the greatest thing ever, I was 16. It was great. I couldn't walk down the street without getting pictures with people and signing autographs, and then it all went."

The X Factor host Olly Murs has admitted that he was "devastated" when his friend Jon Goodey got turned down by the judges.
Murs, who encouraged Goodey to apply for the show, sang with the 27-year-old in a band called the Small Town Blaggers before he shot to fame.
But Goodey's renditions of 'Budapest' and 'Counting Stars' failed to impress the judges, as Rita Ora told him he was lacking "star quality".
Goodey later told a visibly upset Murs: "I know what they mean - I never know what to do to get going. That was you - you were the dancer."
Speaking at the press launch earlier this week, Murs revealed that he felt gutted when Goodey got four nos from the judges.
"Jon's a really good friend of mine," he said. "I've known him obviously for years. It was horrible, but the judges have got to do what they've got to do.

The Philippines Got Talent.
At least it has judging by a girl group made up of four sisters who were shown auditioning for The X Factor when the show returned for 2015 today.
Speaking to the judges before they sing, the girls revealed they'd flown into the UK especially to audition. And it was a trip worth making, judging by the video below:
With synchronised dance moves, all four showcase their vocals - hitting notes and rapping along to Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's 'Bang Bang'.
Their audition gets all judges (apart from Mr Cowell) bopping and singing along, with the girls making it to the next round.
If they go further and get past Boot Camp, their mentor will be chosen a little differently this year.
Instead of producers selecting which category will go to which judge, viewers will be able to vote live via Twitter.

As we gear up for the first episode of The X Factor 2015, some clips of auditions are already getting us excited for the talent (and lack of it) that will be on show.
And no set of auditions would be complete without an Essex girl - step forward Lauren Murray.
Telling new judge Rita Ora she is "repping for Whitney", with a long list of audition songs from the late star, the audience cheers and waits for her to begin.
After a false start on 'Somebody Else's Guy' and a bit of encouragement from Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Lauren sets to... wowing the judges with a rich and unexpectedly soulful voice that gets Simon Cowell and Nick Grimshaw grinning.
Find out if she makes it through to the next round of auditions on Saturday (August 29) at 8pm on ITV.

For the first time ever, viewers at home will be in control of the judges' fates, deciding which category Simon, Cheryl, Nick and Rita should mentor via a live Twitter vote.

The X Factor is coming! The show returns on Saturday, so of course we headed to the glitzy launch in London to squeeze Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw, Caroline Flack, Olly Murs, Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom (phew) for juicy gossip on the red carpet. And we got some, too - read on for some tantalising teasers...
1. Olly and Caroline aren't afraid to disagree with the judges (but it's kind of pointless)
Yep, the new hosts haven't been afraid to tell the judges when they think they've made a mistake sending someone home. "We did it once," Caroline told us. "I ran out and went, 'I think you should put them through!' And Grimmy just went, 'No'." Olly laughed: "We were told if there's anyone that we believe in, to go on stage and give the judges a go. The X Factor is reportedly planning to shake up the Boot Camp stage by moving it to a manor house in the country.
Boot Camp has been held at Wembley Arena since series seven, but boss Simon Cowell is apparently now keen to move it back to a rural mansion in a bid to sex up the show.
According to The Sun, Cowell wants a repeat of previous series which saw the contestants drinking heavily and "hooking up".
In fact, the report suggests that the show would even provide the acts with free alcohol during Boot Camp.
The Boot Camp shake-up is just part of a larger revamp of the show, which has seen Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw replacing Mel B and Louis Walsh on the judging panel.
Dermot O'Leary has been replaced as host by duo Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, while The Xtra Factor will be presented...
