“Normal People” caused a stir on the internet when its 12-episode season dropped in its entirety April 29 on Hulu. The show’s intimate sex scenes generated dozens of think pieces and led many publications to ask stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal what it was like to film such intense and emotionally-charged moments. A 22-minute compilation of the show’s sex scenes recently found its way to Pornhub, one of the world’s most-viewed adult websites, prompting executive producer Ed Guiney to speak out on the illegal circulation of these sequences from the series.
“We’re hugely disappointed that excerpts from the series of ‘Normal People’ have been used in this way,” Guiney said to Variety. “It’s both a violation of copyright and more importantly, it’s deeply disrespectful to the actors involved and to the wider creative team. We have taken appropriate steps to require that the content...

The producers of Hulu and BBC’s “Normal People” have issued a takedown request to adult site Pornhub after a compilation of sex scenes from the 12-part series surfaced on the video-sharing platform.
The 22-minute compilation was reportedly posted on Pornhub last week, but has since been removed. The full video is still available on other sites, however.

Digital juggernaut Pornhub has offered itself as a streaming partner to Germany’s Oldenburg Film Festival, a 26-year-old indie movie event known for edgy programming and quirky celebrity tributes.
The offer, extended by Pornhub vice president Corey Price, comes nearly a week after the festival announced it will forge ahead as planned for a September run. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the festival is aiming for a combination of physical and virtual screenings. The move is yet another recent sign of Pornhub’s seriousness about participating in mainstream cinema.
While the festival has a lower profile than its sisters in Berlin and Munich, it is labelled by some as Germany’s Sundance, and touts an “openness to extremes” on its website. It’s also got history with Pornhub, having premiered an original short from the company called “Her & Him” in 2019, directed by former Disney star Bella Thorne.

First stop Pornhub, next stop Criterion Channel. The Canadian pornography website will release Leilah Weinraub’s art film “Shakedown,” a narrative non-fiction film about a string of pop-up lesbian strip clubs in Los Angeles in the early 2000s. The film has been looking for a home for many years, and has only screened a handful of times, including the 2017 Whitney Biennial, the 68th Berlin International Film Festival, Tate Modern, and MoMA PS1. “Shakedown” was created from over 400 hours of footage that Weinraub has collected over the past 15 years, incorporating live tapes from the strip club, backstage videos, archival material, flyers, and interviews.
Per the official synopsis: “Capturing the early-aughts underground Los Angeles Black lesbian owned and operated strip club from which the film gets its name, ‘Shakedown’ chronicles the personal and professional relationships of the club’s female performers, the Shakedown Angels. Weinraub maps out an all cash economy run...

Surprise! Former Disney Channel star Bella Thorne has emerged to announce her directorial debut, and it’s for an unexpected platform: online adult content forum Pornhub. No, really.
Thorne revealed the project, a short film called “Her & Him,” on Pornhub’s YouTube series “Behind the Scenes.” According to Pornhub vice president Corey Price, the film is “a modernistic, sexually explicit Romeo and Juliet-like depiction of two star-crossed lovers who have unbridled sexual longing for each other.”
For her part, Thorne says in the video that “what inspired me to make the movie was basically thinking about this relationship between a male and a female, and this fight over dominance and how much that relates to us in our general world besides in a sexual scenario.”

It wasn’t the usual start to an awards show, even if the award show was for the adult industry. Without any kind of announcement, a parade of porn stars, all wearing sheer monochromatic garments designed by Kanye West’s Yeezy brand, took the stage. The erotic photographer Richard Kern snapped their photos, ignoring the audience altogether. It wasn’t until minutes later that West himself strolled on stage, adding to the confusion rather than clarifying it. The rapper and fashion designer alternated between shouting directions at Kern (“Yo, Richard!

The pornography industry is often an early adopter of new tech. And so it has come to pass with the highly volatile world of cryptocurrency, the internet’s decentralized and encrypted electronic cash networks.
Pornhub, one of the world’s biggest pornographic-video sites, is expanding its cryptocurrency-payment options to soon accept Tron, founded by Justin Sun — the Chinese entrepreneur who recently acquired file-sharing software company BitTorrent.
Sun bought BitTorrent for $118 million in cash (not Tron’s Trx cryptocurrency), according to a source familiar with the situation. Investors in BitTorrent, which was founded in 2004 and has had a long legacy of being used for piracy, included Accel Partners and Dcm Ventures. A rep for Tron declined to confirm the purchase price.
Sun evidently wants to use BitTorrent to expand the reach of Tron. According to Tron, it “aims to be a decentralized entertainment content-sharing platform eventually leveraging blockchain and peer-to-peer network technology.
