I love Javier Colon but I think Dia Frampton has what it takes to beat the frontrunner, and a lot of it has to do with how amazing Blake Shelton has been as a coach.
The Voice finale is tonight and I can’t wait to see what the final four contestants have in store for us! I’m especially excited to hear Dia Frampton‘s song tonight, since I’m pulling for her to win tomorrow. Dia has proven to be not only a singer, but a uniquely talented artist capable of compiling original renditions of popular songs. She’s a joy to listen to, especially live. Dia has raw talent, but I still think the reason she is at the top has much to do with her excellent mentor, Blake Shelton.

Blake Shelton has explained why he chose to save Xenia on The Voice. The country star decided to advance Xenia in the competition over Jared Blake and Patrick Thomas on Tuesday night. The public had already voted to save Dia Frampton. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, he said: "I kind of had the idea that Dia was going to make it [to the next round] because her performance had this huge impact. "Once that happened, I'm looking at Patrick and Jared and Xenia standing up there. I don't know about y'all, but I love Xenia. I'm protective of her. All three of them are talented but here's where the Oklahoma guy [in me comes out]. There are two grown men and Xenia and I'll be damned if I'll be the guy to send that little girl home. I'm a fan of hers and I'm not going to tell (more)...

NBC Javier Colon performing “Angel” on “The Voice”
Last night’s live elimination episode of “The Voice” was full of surprises — Lily Elise and Raquel Castro are gone, Jared Blake and Patrick Thomas got the boot, Christina Aguilera had some crazy braid action going on and Cee Lo Green wore a sparkly black jacket — but the true spectacles were the trio of performances from Nakia, Vicci Martinez and Javier Colon.

Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera each send two contestants home on tonight’s episode of ‘The Voice’. Did they make the right decision with their saves?
Today was tough on The Voice judges Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera, they had to choose who to save from their respective teams while America’s saves were announced. Christina cried right from the start and said quite a few words about how hard of a decision it was while Blake says he “hate[s] this moment” and was “dreading” the elimination. Ultimately, he chose to save Xenia after Dia Frampton was saved by her voters for her Heartless rendition by Kanye West. (She told us she felt “dizzy” when she heard her name called.)
“I can’t affect change with Jared Blake or Patrick Thomas like I can with Xenia, so I am going to pick Xenia,” Blake said, and you could hear an audible gasp from the audience.

Maybe it hasn’t quite sunk in that the stakes are high (a $100,000 cash prize! A recording contract!). Or maybe they’re still in shock that such uber-cool superstars like Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton are actually texting them notes at all hours of the night. Whatever the reason, the contestants’ mood before Tuesday’s live version of The Voice was oddly calm, cool, and collected.
But first, a Spoiler Alert! Don’t move to the jump until you seen the results of the show.

"The Voice" is gearing up for the semi-finals, but it will do so without four contestants.
Two singers from both Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera's teams were eliminated on Tuesday night.
Going home on Christina's team were pint-sized pop singer Raquel Castro and teen Lily Elise, and leaving Blake's band were country crooner Patrick Thomas and rocker Jared Blake.
Carson Daly revealed that America's votes over the last week had saved Beverly McClellan, the shaved-head rocker on Christina's team, and Dia Frampton from Blake's bunch, the pretty brunette who took on Kanye West's "Heartless" last week.

Tonight on 'The Voice,' we'll say goodbye to two contestants from both Team Christina and Team Blake. But who will it be?
Last week's first live performance show was a strong one, with Christina Aguilera's team of ladies -- Beverly McClellan, Frenchie Davis, Lily Elise and Raquel Castro -- battling it out in between performing 'Lady Marmalade' with their coach.
We also saw Blake Shelton's team -- down to Patrick Thomas, Xenia, Dia Frampton and Jared Blake -- perform strong solos before belting out Maroon 5's hit 'This Love' with their country star coach.
I voted online, and I'm dangerously close to downloading a few of the songs on iTunes as well -- a sure sign of obsession -- but I'm still not sure how the eliminations will play out.

var brightcovevideoid = '982473016001'; Christina Aguilera has played many live shows in her career. But Tuesday night, after the first live show of NBC's The Voice, the celebrity coach - who sang Queen songs with her fellow coaches, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green - praised her team of contestants for their poise and determination. "Running an all-girl team is just the best," Aguilera, 30, told People after the show. "It's the best feeling ever to see people grow and change and to be a part of someone's journey who are just such raw talents." Team Christina, comprised of Raquel Castro,...

The inaugural live performance episode of NBC’s The Voice was like a mashup of Adam Levine’s magnetism, Cee Lo Green’s missing shades, Christina Aguilera’s cleavage, Blake Shelton’s ad-libs, and Carson Daly’s personality. Which is to say the two-hour telecast was alternately hot, confusing, ridiculous, adorable, and vague.
Indeed, while I was most certainly entertained by the show that describes itself as “the world’s most exciting singing competition,” I’m also left scratching my head about its basic skeleton. Over the last six weeks, The Voice has winnowed its field down to 16 contestants — four...

We made it through the blind auditions and the battle rounds, and we've reached the final stage of the competition: The live episodes, in which two of the teams, eight singers in all, will perform solo in hopes of earning the coaches' approval and Our crucial votes.
And since these episodes are live, the recaps are now live updates as well. So keep that refresh button on the ready and join me in the comments section to critique (kindly!) tonight's performances and make your predictions for who will make it one step closer to becoming The Voice.

The sixth week of "The Voice" sent four more contestants home while presenting a drama on stage. Curtis Grimes planted a kiss on the lips of his duet partner Emily Valentine (both from Cee-Lo Green team) at the end of their performance of Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now", making the celebrity mentors' jaws drop.
The song was a fit for country boy Grimes, while Valentine had to reach a little out of her rock comfort zone to perform it. Cee-Lo then picked Curtis to go to the live shows, and join Nakia, Vicci Martinez, as well as Tori & Taylor Thompson.
For the final battle round, Adam Levine put Jeff Jenkins against Casey Desmond to sing Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me". The judges were torn between the two, but Adam finally dropped his choice on Jeff. He joins Casey Weston, Javier Colon and Devon Barley.

The battle rounds continued on The Voice last night with the advisors and the coaches pitting two of their team mates against each other with song choices that were out of many of the artists’ genres. So last night was quite the challenges on a variety of levels!
First to sing were Tje and Nakia, performing Neyo’s “Closer.” It was great to see Tje laying out a strategy to lay low during rehearsals and then belt out during the performance. However, by laying low, he did himself a disservice and did not take full advantage of the advisor and coach at hand. So in turn, Nakia was chosen as the next artist on Team Cee-lo to make it to the live round. While Tje does have a beautiful voice, Nakia brought a different kind of soul that was so refreshing and enjoyable to watch. It’s no wonder Cee-lo chose Nakia.

Unlike last week’s Battle Rounds — where we saw plenty of like against like — Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice (aka Day Two of Battle Rounds) found disparate singers engaging in head-to-head duels to get to the finals. The one common thread for everyone, though? Nighttime rehearsals in that semi-creepy brick warehouse space! (Seriously, how come that building exterior gets as much airtime as Sia and Reba?) But enough larkin’ about on subjects that matter not! Let’s break down each individual battle — ranked from most- to least-promising winner — and assess the contestants’ chances as they head to the...

The competition didn't let up in Round 2 of the battle rounds as "The Voice" kept its momentum from last week, though there was one pairing that will haunt us forever (or at least a few days, give or take).
The song selection in Round 2 was a bit suspect with the coaches trying to convince us that their choices were all about classic, simple songs that would highlight the performers' voices. We think those choices screamed budgetary concerns more than anything, but we aren't multiple-platinum selling artists like those coaches.
Despite the questionable song choices, the performers really worked hard to show their personality and range. And let's face it, the talent in these early rounds of "The Voice" makes "American Idol's" Top 24 look like the auditions for a high school musical.
Here are the Round 2 battle results:

Tonight’s episode was a little boring but the shining star was Javier Colon!
To be honest, I’m kind of over these battle rounds on The Voice. Although four more contestants were eliminated, it feels like an entire hour of nothing really happening. Nothing, that is, other than the so-gorgeous-i’m-drooling voice of Javier Colon.
When we first saw Javier he was singing Time After Time, and his smooth voice had all four judges turning in their chairs, although Adam Levine won him over to his team. Tonight, he was paired up with the ever-happy Angela Wolff, and the duo sang “Stand By Me.” Rather than be threatened by the early favorite, Angela proclaimed how excited she was to sing with Javier, “because he’s the best.”
To be fair to the girl with the “infectious” smile that is so beautiful and bright it is borderline irritating (seriously, look at her teeth!

The four judges of "The Voice" have added more members to their own teams on May 3. In this second week, Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton picked five other contestants whom they will coach, rounding up their teams to eight each.
Cee-Lo was the only judge who has completed his team of eight during the second episode of blind audition rounds. Meanwhile, the other three judges chose more talents in second chance round where contestants eliminated in first blind audition were given another shot.
Christina landed her choice on petite 16-year-old fan girl Raquel Castro, on whom the "You Lost Me" hitmaker has a big hope, "From my own experience, great things come in small packages." She also nabbed soccer player Julia Eason. The 30-year-old blonde gushed, "I think we will have so much fun together. You made me feel it. I love your runs and your ad libs.

One of my biggest fears in life is running out of food when I’m hosting a party. In the past, this overarching concern has spiraled out of control, resulting in industrial-sized batches of homemade salsa, entire refrigerator shelves devoted to housing containers of potato salad, and and grumbles from my husband about having to eat turkey burgers for a fortnight’s worth of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. But as I like to argue, at least you’ll never see one of our guests scrape the bottom of the bowl.
Unfortunately, the creators of NBC’s The Voice don’t share my particular neuroses.

Sure the rules of the contest are repeated ad nauseum throughout the show, and of course many of the contestants profess that this is the biggest/only/last chance they will have to make the big time, but NBC's The Voice scored another charming episode Tuesday night as the coaches finalized their teams. Anyone else thing the theme song sounds eerily close to the one from the variety show Solid Gold? Last week, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, along with Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, selected three of eight team members in the first blind audition episode,...
