The former Manchester United footballer David Beckham is sueing Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg who is the Chief Brand Officer of fitness brand Functional 45 aka F45 for allegedly “duping” him into becoming a brand ambassador for the fitness brand.
For clarity purposes, David and Mark became friends after the footballer and his family relocated to Los Angeles in 2007. Mark joined the F45 in 2019 and went on to create his own workout routines ‘Wahlberg Week’ which are performance-based workouts that are carried out multiple times yearly and it’s exclusive to all F45 studios.
Anyway, Mark was able to convince David to become the brand ambassador for F45 in 2020 and by November of that year, the former Real Madrid player was onboard and took to his social media platforms including Instagram to promote the brand by sharing photos he took in the studio with the customized F45 gym as part of the...

Soccer star David Beckham is suing Hollywood A-lister Mark Wahlberg over a fitness deal that left Beckham with a $10 million out-of-pocket loss.
Beckham’s firm, Db Ventures, claims Wahlberg “duped” him into a brand deal with F45 Training that grants Wahlberg 36% interest. Wahlberg is also the chief branding officer. Beckham also claims he was given his share of the brand’s stocks when its price had plummeted, resulting in a significant financial loss for Beckham.
F45 Training is a fitness brand with training centers in 60 countries, including the United States. Beckham became the brand’s global ambassador in 2021 after he moved to Los Angeles and befriended Wahlberg. Beckham and F45 shared several photos of the soccer player endorsing the brand on social media, but those photos have now been removed.
Along with Wahlberg and his investment firm, Mark Wahlberg Investment Group, Beckham is also suing F45 founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch.

It sounds like David Beckham and Mark Wahlberg‘s friendship is likely over as they’re now embroiled in a $10 million lawsuit.
David has filed the lawsuit against Mark‘s fitness company F45, claiming that he was “duped” by the brand to sign on as the global ambassador.
Not only was F45 named in the lawsuit, so was Mark‘s company Mark Wahlberg Investment Group, and the founders of F45, Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch. (Mark has a 36% interest in F45 and serves as the Chief Brand Officer)
So, how was David duped?
Keep reading to find out more…
TMZ reports that David claims in the lawsuit that he lost more than $10 million as he didn’t received his promised stocks from F45 until after share prices dropped.
F45 responded to the lawsuit by saying the claims were “fraudulent” and asked the judge to dismiss the case, but the judge...

Manchester, July 20 (Ians) Opener Zak Crawley slammed a magnificent 189 off 182 deliveries and put England in commanding position against Australia as hosts were 384-4 with a vital lead of 67 runs at stumps on day two of the fourth Ashes 2023 Test at Old Trafford, here on Thursday.
With an eye on the weather in Manchester coming into play on days four and five, Crawley led England’s batting charge from the front, hitting 12 fours and a maximum to hit a sensational maiden Ashes century in just 93 balls, as Australia were left rattled by the opener’s blazing knock.
Moeen Ali justified him being slotted on number three with a knock of 54 before Mitchell Starc took him out. Crawley and Joe Root (84 off 95 balls) joined forces to hit a jaw-dropping 178 runs from 25 overs in an extraordinary show of stroke-play in the second session, as England bossed the day’s play, leaving Australia listless.

New Delhi, May 29 (Ians) Australia wicket-keeper Alex Carey has said he maintains a close relationship with a host of former keepers and revealed he has spoken to some of those predecessors about what he can expect through the World Test Championship (Wtc) Final and the Ashes series.
Former Australian keeper Adam Gilchrist presented Carey with his Baggy Green when he made his Test debut against England in Brisbane during the Ashes series in 2021.
The left-hander said the Australia great is among a small, but select, group of former keepers he still remains in contact with.
“Adam Gilchrist presented my Baggy Green and is a guy I obviously looked up to when I was a youngster,” Carey told Icc.
He further said adding that he enjoys hearing regularly from the tight-knit group of Australian wicket-keepers.

New Delhi, Feb 21 (Ians) With the Australian batters failing miserably in the first two Tests of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, former opener Matthew Hayden has offered to help the tourists solve their batting woes in Indi.
Hayden, who was the Pakistan cricket team’s mentor for the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup, is in India as a commentator for official broadcaster Star Sports and has no formal involvement with the touring side.
However, on Tuesday he told the Sydney Morning Herald that he is 100 per cent ready to help the Australian batters who have produced scores of 177, 91 and 262 and 113 in four innings in India so far with Usman Khawa’a being the only Australian batter to score a half-century so far.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (Ians) Legendary Australia cricketer Ian Chappell believes Australia has a chance of a Test series victory over India under the leadership of a “pretty decent” leader in Pat Cummins. Chappell was a member of Bill Lawry’s famous 1969 side which won the Test series in India 3-1.
Australia’s last series triumph over India came in 2004 under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist and since then, they have been unable to replicate that same result in four successive trips to the country.
But with the four-match series, played for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting from February 9 in Nagpur, Chappell is optimistic about Australia winning against India in challenging sub-continent conditions though he admitted to being concerned about the visitors’ batting.
“Australia have a chance. Bowling-wise, I think they’ll be Ok. They’ll be light on for a second spinner because I don’t know anything about Todd Murphy.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (Ians) Former Australia head coach Justin Langer believes that the current Test side has got a huge chance to beat India in the upcoming four-match Test series, starting from February 9 in Nagpur.
It was in 2004 when Australia claimed a historic 2-1 Test series victory in India, where Langer was a member of the side led by Adam Gilchrist. Since then, Australia have been unsuccessful in winning a Test series in India.
“Yeah, I do. Absolutely, I do. I can’t wait to watch it. It’s the hardest tour. I look back to 2004 when Australia won for the first time in 35 years … it has a similar feel about it. It was a very balanced and confident team. The (current team) are winning and I think they’re a huge chance to beat India.”

Sydney, Jan 11 (Ians) The mindset, tactics and strategies that Australia will employ in the four-Test tour of India in February-March, have been revealed in a documentary series as the Pat Cummins’ side hopes to break their 19-year series-losing streak in India.
The docu-series called ‘The Test’ season two, which premieres on Amazon’s Prime Video this week, follows the highs and lows of Pat Cummins’ team from the time of his appointment as skipper just weeks before last summer’s Ashes campaign, through to their subsequent tours of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, according to a report in the Australian media on Wednesday. Melbourne, Dec 28 (Ians) Left-handed batter Alex Carey on Wednesday scripted history as he became the second Australian wicket-keeper after legendary Rod Marsh to score a Test century at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (McG), on the third day of the second Test against South Africa, here.
Carey celebrated a brisk maiden Test hundred (111) in typically understated fashion. He carved a wide ball through the off-side with only an ear-to-ear grin giving away the fact he had just reached the rare milestone.
Infact, his batting partner Cameron Green showed even more elation, raising both arms as he ran from the other end before exchanging an embrace with Carey. The 31-year-old, who took 131 balls to bring up his century, was, however, visibly emotional after his achievement.
“As is Alex Carey’s way, there was a real humility in the way that he celebrated that,” his former Test coach Justin Langer told Channel Seven.

Melbourne, Nov 22 (Ians) Openers Travis Head and David Warner struck centuries and shared a record 269-run stand while spinner Adam Zampa claimed 4-31 as Australia consigned England to their heaviest defeat, by 221 runs via D/L method, in the third and final Odi match of the series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground here on Tuesday.
Travis Head hammered 152 while David Warner slammed 106 off 102 deliveries as Australia posted a mammoth 355/5 in a match reduced to 48 overs due to rain.
England, chasing a revised target of 364 from 48 overs, never got going and lost wickets at regular intervals as Zampa (4-31), Pat Cummins (2-25), and Sean Abbott (2-45) helped the hosts bowl out England for 142 in 31.4 overs to hand their archrivals biggest defeat ever in 50-Over format.

Melbourne, Nov 19 (Ians) Australian Test and One-day International (Odi) skipper Pat Cummins has reportedly met former great Adam Gilchrist to clear any misgivings and heal the rift between current and former players following the departure of long-serving head coach Justin Langer.
Langer, who was coach of the Australian side from 2018 till the time the home team won the Ashes 4-0 in early 2022, reportedly did not enjoy a great rapport with senior players resulting in things reaching a crisis stage on a couple of occasions.
Cricket Australia then offered the former opening batter a six-month contract extension till the T20 World Cup, which he rejected and decided to step down ahead of the crucial away Test series against Pakistan.
A report in ‘The Age’ said on Saturday that, “Current players and support staff believe there is an ‘agenda’ behind the pile-on. They believe Langer’s former teammates are using their media...

Melbourne, Nov 12 (Ians) Legendary Australia wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist sees passion and unconditional commitment behind his former opening partner Matthew Hayden having a successful time with Pakistan as their team mentor in the ongoing Mens T20 World Cup.
The unflappable Hayden, seen as one of the greatest openers ever produced by Australia, has been a glove-like fit for Pakistan as their team mentor in the ongoing showpiece event. Brought in by Pcb Chairman Ramiz Raja, Hayden has propelled the side from the brink of elimination to reach the title clash against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Sydney, Nov 8 (Ians) Pakistan coach Matthew Hayden has asserted he will go with the same opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in the Icc T20 World Cup semifinal against New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday, despite the duo not quite giving the side a promising start expected from them.
While Azam and Rizwan are Pakistan’s number one opening pair, their below-par showing here has prompted experts to ask the team management to push the captain down the batting order, but Hayden said their experience of soaking up the pressure in big-match situations makes them the ideal candidates to open the innings.
“Babar and Rizwan rightly are a number one combination. If I can take your minds way back to a different World Cup, that was the 2007 World Cup and Adam Gilchrist had a lean World Cup healed of that undefeated campaign for Australia,” said Hayden.

Melbourne, Nov 7 (Ians) Legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist believes the public enthusiasm around the home team “felt a little bit flat” throughout the course of the Icc T20 World Cup here, with the ace wicketkeeper-batter inferring there was “no feeling of a huge excitement from the way crowds turned up to the Australian games”.
Comparing the enthusiasm of the Australian fans to that of supporters from India, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, the former cricketer said the contest between India and Zimbabwe at the McG, where 82,000 spectators turned up to witness the Super 12 game, was a “whole different conversation”.
The 50-year-old said that while time will tell what the reason behind the slump in interest was among the home team fans, genuine concerns are rising about Australians losing passion in the national side.

Perth, Oct 25 (Ians) Former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist is sweating over the crisis that has hit Aaron Finch’s side following their massive loss to New Zealand in their opening Super 12 game of the Icc T20 World Cup at Scg on October 22.
With Finn Allen and Devon Conway on fire in the opening Group 1 match, Australia quicks were left clueless by the onslaught, which left the hosts chasing a mammoth 201 for victory. In the end, the defending champions lost by a mind-boggling 89 runs, to not just concede two points but also come under tremendous net run rate (Nrr) pressure.
Gilchrist, one of the best wicketkeepers Australia has produced, said on Tuesday the team should have a serious discussion ahead of the virtual do-or-die clash against Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka in Perth later today.

Green beat the likes of Alex Carey, Josh Philippe, Ben McDermott and Nathan Ellis for the spot that unexpectedly became available in the 15-member squad.

Melbourne, Oct 18 (Ians) Legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist is confident T20I skipper Aaron Finch and his squad will not get overawed by expectation from the home crowd when they begin their Icc T20 World Cup title defence against New Zealand on October 22 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Finch’s side have struggled of late with the side losing the away T20I series to India and the home series to England recently. Melbourne, Sep 26 (Ians) Australian cricket legends Adam Gilchrist and Mark Waugh have opined that power-hitter Tim David should be in the side for the upcoming Icc T20 World Cup at home and believe the team management should take a call on whether to include either of Steve Smith or Marcus Stoinis in the XI for the showpiece event beginning on October 16.

Dubai, Sep 23 (Ians) A day after former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said India should look to field both Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant in their T20I playing eleven, wicketkeeping great Adam Gilchrist has thrown his support in Pant’s favour, saying that the southpaw should definitely be in the playing eleven.
For a while, there has been a long-ranging debate on who between Karthik and Pant should start in India’s eleven for the Icc Men’s T20 World Cup starting next month in Australia. While right-handed Karthik can boast about being a specialist finisher in the shortest format of the game, Pant’s left-handed angle in the top six, despite his T20I record not being much impressive, cannot be ignored.
“The dare of Rishabh Pant and the courage for him, the way in which he takes on bowling attacks. I think he’s got to be a must in that Indian line-up.

Mohali, Sep 21 (Ians) In the first T20I against India at Mohali, Australia pulled a rabbit out of the hat by promoting all-rounder Cameron Green to open the batting alongside captain Aaron Finch.
That move seemed to be on the track to be a masterstroke when Green hammered four fours off his first four deliveries off a returning Umesh Yadav in the second over of the chase. From there, Green blasted his way to a sensational 61 off 30 balls, including taking 21 runs on eight balls of facing leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Green went on to take ‘Player of the Match’ award as Australia chased down 209 with four balls to spare. Australia wicketkeeping-batting legend Adam Gilchrist was in awe of Green’s blazing knock and expressed happiness over the all-rounder developing and maturing at the international level.
“Look out this (year’s) summer. The development and maturing of Cam (Cameron) Green before our eyes is just so exciting.

Melbourne, Aug 24 (Ians) Former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist believes Afghanistan’s charismatic spinner Rashid Khan could start a bidding war among franchises when the Big Bash League (Bbl) Player Draft is held on August 28.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan, one of the key players in Gujarat Titans’ Ipl 2022 title triumph, has spent the last five tournaments with the Adelaide Strikers and if reports emerging ahead of the Draft are any indication, the 23-year-old could be the subject of a bidding war between franchises.
The Melbourne Renegades hold the first pick in the Bbl-12 Draft.
“My tip, the Melbourne Renegades have first pick, I think they’ll maybe go for Rashid Khan, which will then force the Adelaide Striker’s hand to retain him if they want to play that card,” the legendary Australian cricketer told Sen’s Whateley on Wednesday.

Sydney, May 17 (Ians) Former Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has blamed Cricket Australia (CA) for not investigating the 2018 ball-tampering scandal thoroughly due to which questions are still being raised over it.
"I think Cricket Australia are responsible for why this will be continually asked. When they did their investigation at the time they had Patty Howard the high-performance general manager, Iain Roy was the integrity officer," said Gilchrist on Sen's Gilly and Goss show.
"They went there and did this very quick review of that isolated incident and perhaps no one in the team knew," added Gilchrist.
On Monday, another former Aussie cricketer, Michael Clarke said he was not surprised by Cameron Bancroft, one of the players involved in the scandal, alleging that bowlers could also have been known about it besides him, Steve Smith and David Warner.
Gilchrist blamed CA for not getting to the root of the scandal.

New Delhi, March 11 (Ians) March 11 is landmark day in Indian cricket history, as it was on this day back in 2001 that off-spinner Harbhajan Singh became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in Test cricket in the iconic series against Australia.

Chennai, Feb 15 (Ians) England wicket-keeper Ben Foakes, who turned 28 on Monday, drew all-round praise from renowned former players from around the world for his brilliant work against India, with Kiran More calling him one of the best overseas players to have kept wickets in India.
On a wicket that aided turn from the first session of the first day of the second Test, England did not concede a single extra in the 95.5 overs in India's first innings.
Also, on a third day wicket, Foakes, playing his sixth Test, conceded just five byes, including a boundary from a viciously turning delivery.
"Ben Foakes has been one of the best overseas keepers in Indian conditions. His right leg opens up when collecting from a left-arm spinner. Off-spinner bowls and his left leg goes slightly back @englandcricket #cricket #IndvEng," tweeted More during the third day's play at the Ma Chidambaram Stadium on Monday.

New Delhi, Feb 8 (Ians) Had Rishabh Pant scored only 38 runs more, spread over five specific innings in his fledgling Test career, the swashbuckling batsman-wicketkeeper would have seven centuries to show instead of just two in the 18 Tests. He has missed five tons so far, largely because of his penchant for big shots to take the fight to the opponent's camp and win matches.
Pant is just 23, and is fearless -- he became bold after his father used to tie a pillow to his chest and bowl with a cork ball on the terrace of their home in Roorkie, Uttarakhand. But most importantly, perhaps, he has the support and backing of India captain Virat Kohli, coach Ravi Shastri, and the present national -- as well as the previous -- selection committee.
At times, however, Pant seems to lose focus and attempts ambitious shots that lead to his downfall.

Melbourne, Dec 27 (Ians) Australia captain Tim Paine on Sunday became the fastest wicketkeeper to reach 150 Test dismissals. Paine completed a catch in the 60th over to send back his India counterpart Rishabh Pant off the bowling of fast bowler Mitchell Starc to reach the milestone.
Paine, 36, has reached 150 dismissals in just 33 innings, thus putting him ahead of South Africa's Quinton de Kock, who took 34 innings to reach the number. The closest among Australians is wicketkeeping great Adam Gilchrist, who reached the landmark in 36 innings.
Paine, however, remains a long way off Gilchrist's career record of 416 dismissals, which is the second highest of all time in Test cricket behind former South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher's 555. Ian Healy (395) and Rod Marsh (355) are the other two Australians in the top five of the list which is rounded off by former India captain M.S. Dhoni (294).

Melbourne, Dec 24 (Ians) Australia head coach Justin Langer has praised his team's Test captain Tim Paine for his performance and leadership, calling him their "most important player". Langer, however, added that Adam Gilchrist remains the best-ever wicketkeeper-batsman for transforming the game of cricket.
Paine scored an unbeaten 73 against India in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval, rescuing his side from a precarious situation of 111/7 in first innings and taking it to 191, just 53 runs short of India's total of 244. Australia then bundled out India for mere 36 in the second innings and went on to win the match by eight wickets.
"You think of Adam Gilchrist, I guess who transformed the game in a sense. That is why Gilchrist is an all-time great player because he transformed the game," Langer told reporters on Thursday.

New Delhi, Dec 3 (Ians) The Indian cricket team begins its T20 series against Australia on Friday. Unlike Tests and One-day Internationals where they have an inferior record to Australia in Australia, visiting India have a better head-to-head against Aussies, winning five of the nine matches in the format played between them Down Under.

New Delhi, Nov 21 (Ians) Left-arm pacer Rudra Pratap Singh played only 14 Tests in a short career, but his two four-wicket bursts in the 2007-08 Test series in Australia, during which he played an important hand in India's win in the third Test, stand out.
