We've covered quite a few actors and actresses here at TV Fanatic, and while some of them have fallen into the "familiar face in the background" roles, none have snuck up on audiences like Olivia Munn.
One of her first acting gigs was that of "Claw Hostess" in the Steve Carell and Tina Fey comedy Date Night.
Although her part was small, the actress was one of the most memorable experiences of that movie—besides Mark Wahlberg shirtless, that is.
Though she looks like a model, Munn's career has focused solely on the small and big screen and live and scripted appearances.
In many ways, she's like that actor you notice when you rewatch movies from years ago, making you go, "Wait, isn't that what's her name from that thing?"
It's an extremely common occurrence with actors who turn into big names later in their careers. Don't believe me?...

Zac Efron may have risen to prominence after starring in the High School Musical trilogy, but he's since reinvented himself in a big way.
Shedding the "frat boy" persona movies like Neighbors and Dirty Grandpa later labelled him with, the actor has shown a darker, far more serious side in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and The Iron Claw. Now, all eyes are on what Efron does next.
If a new rumour shared by @MyTimeToShineH is to be believed, then it could be a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
We don't have any news on who he'll play, though there are plenty of possibilities. Recently, there have been rumours about Marvel Studios finally moving forward with a Nova TV series, and while the focus is expected to be on Sam Alexander, Efron would arguably make a perfect Richard Rider.
Efron is only thought to have had discussions with...

Boruto took a massive jump to Two Blue Vortex. The plot suddenly became darker, with Naruto and Hinata being sealed away and everyone’s memories being altered. Everyone believes Kawaki to be the good guy and has forced Boruto Uzumaki to become a rogue shinobi. Even though there are only seven chapters in the latest manga, fans seem to have found their lost interest in Boruto’s story.
Apart from Naruto, Sasuke was also captured by the Claw Grimes, which led to the creation of Hidari. Hidari is one of the four strongest Claw Grimes, powered through Sasuke’s chakra. All these evil Claw Grimes seem to possess the Shinju Rinnegan. While the true extent of the dojutsu remains unknown, the fans believe it to be different than the Rinnegan from Naruto Shippuden.

“The Sadness Will Last Forever”: The life of wrestler Kevin Von Erich could probably be described by the iconic final words of Vincent Van Gogh. Sean Darkin’s Von Erich biopic, titled The Iron Claw, is the depiction of that story, which is inarguably one of the saddest possible ones to grace cinema in recent years. My head still hurts thanks to the amount of tears the movie made me shed during its final ten minutes, which only indicates that Darkin has nailed it—and so has the cast, led by an impeccable Zac Efron as Kevin, in his career-best performance. We’re going to dissect, discuss, and attempt to find the answer to the biggest question this movie floats, regarding the existence of a curse in the ill-fated Texas-based family, and hopefully find some solace by the end of the article.

Sadly, even the claws are not enough to prey on the Oscar nominations. Robbed of even a single Oscar nomination, The Iron Claw can relate to it. An inspiring story of the real-life Von Erich brothers, The Iron Claw became fans’ favorite without a doubt. Released on December 22, 2023, the movie is an ambitious and forceful account of the top-gear wrestlers of the early 1980s.
The movie has already been nominated for the National Board of Review Award for Best Ensemble. However, the actors and the crew seem to be unhappy because of not getting the most prestigious award which they, as well as their fans, think that they rightfully deserved.

For my money, The Iron Claw was one of the best films of 2023. Many JoBlo readers seemed to agree, with our review for the movie getting loads of clicks, and so far, it seems to be doing quite well in our annual Golden Schmoes awards. It also did quite well at the domestic box office, grossing about $35 million, which is significantly more than other, more hyped awards contenders like Poor Things, American Fiction, and The Holdovers. Even still, it was mostly shut out of the main awards conversation despite career-best work from star Zac Efron, who plays the last surviving Von Erich brother, Kevin.
So, if you happened to miss The Iron Claw in theatres, now’s your chance to catch up with director Sean Durkin’s take on the infamous “Curse of the Von Erichs” with it making its VOD debut today. You can get it through whatever streamer you like the most,...

Jennifer Starzyk admits that she knew next to nothing about professional wrestling or the real-life family the film depicts before she signed on to design the costumes for the A24 release “The Iron Claw.” She was surprised at what she discovered. “What I found out is it was live theater,” she observes. “It’s these insanely athletic, talented people that not only need to be completely strong and inhuman with strength, but there’s choreography, there’s costumes, there’s showmanship. I mean, it was just the most exciting thing to get into. It was such a gift…There’s just so many nuances in our movie with patriarchy and brotherhood and striving and where it gets you in life. Wrestling is its own thing as an ancient sport, and it’s very masculine. But there’s dress-up involved.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
That dress-up part is where Starzyk comes in.

Pepa Lubojacki’s “If Pigeons Turned to Gold” was named the most promising European project at Ji.hlava Documentary Film Festival.
The Czech-Slovak co-production follows four family members, including Lubojacki’s own brother and cousins, unhoused for over a decade and struggling with addiction.
“I don’t use the word ‘homeless,’ because it has really negative connotations. Once you say ‘unhoused resident,’ it implies they are still a part of this society,” says the director.
“At times, I felt guilty I was better off than my brother. I wanted to rip off a part of me and just give it to him. But it’s not another depressing story, because I am fed up with them. There was always love in this film.”
Granted post-production services valued at €15,000 and €5,000 – courtesy of Upp and Soundsquare – the Ji.hlava New Visions Award winner is produced by Claw’s Wanda Kaprálová and Klára Mamojková.

Remember when everybody thought that a tsunami would be the worst thing to ever befall Horseshoe Bay? Compared to the events of Nancy Drew‘s penultimate hour, that wave of complete and utter destruction barely even made a splash.
Wednesday’s episode ended with Callie literally showering “200 years of unburied sins” upon the town by contaminating the water at Bess’ otherwise peaceful Beltane celebration, setting the stage for next week’s series finale. (Typing those words didn’t feel right, to be honest. We’re not ready!)

This season of Nancy Drew is possibly the most fun and simultaneously the most painful the series has ever been.
But after the laughter and tears of Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 7, I'm not sure how much more I can take.
Let's face it, The Drew Crew couples are a mess, and it hurts to watch.
We can't really argue with Nick when he says the supernatural ruins the relationship in this Nancy Drew quote. So far, he's right.
From what I can see, the supernatural ruins every relationship it touches.

Perhaps Bess and Addy are doing well, but we see so little of them that it's difficult to be sure. I'm tired of Horseshoe Bay's one female couple being backburned.
George is focused on her career, which is helping her move on from Nick,...

At the end of Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai‘s penultimate episode, Claw was about to Godzilla her way through Shanghai, destroying everything — and everyone! — in her path. If Nuwa was still around, she’d probably slap the kids with one big, fat “I told you so!” (Ugh. Humans.)
Sam, his parents and Elle know they need retrieve the magical knife from the creature if they want to turn the gremlins back into cutesy mogwai (and you know, save the city and whatnot). With Gizmo agreeing to be bait for the love-stricken Claw, the kids head off to put their rough plan in place,...
