According to Jewish mythology, Lilith once lived in the Garden of Eden with Adam. Lilith was created from the same earth as Adam, essentially making her Adam's equal (unlike Eve who was created from Adam's rib). Conflicting stories get things a bit muddled after that point... The prologue to writer-director Lindsay Denniberg's Video Diary of a Lost Girl shows Lilith and Adam mating, but then Lilith leaves Adam after she refuses to become subservient to him. Lilith vanishes from the Garden of Eden and never returns, opting to have sex with thousands of demons instead. In Denniberg's surreal world, Lilin are the demonic offspring of Lilith. In appearance, they closely resemble human females. They are immortal as long as they have sex once a month; otherwise they will die from loss of blood during a monstrous menstruation period. Oh, and their sex is so killer that their mates die immediately.

Once again, those magnificent bastards over at All Things Horror are throwing another amazing party, and you — yes, You — are invited.
Just so you know, the party in question is a film festival called Shudderfest, and it will take place this weekend, October 26 and 27, at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, Massachusetts. If I were you, I'd make arrangements now, because it's going to be the Eastern seaboard's preeminent Halloween event.
For years now, Chris Hallock and Mike Snoonian, the proprietors of All Things Horror, have sought out and screened the best of independent genre cinema during monthly screenings at the Somerville. But I have to say, this time, they've outdone themselves.
The festivities begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, with H. P. Mendoza's I Am a Ghost, a supernatural thriller that recalls the work of Polanski and Kubrick. This will be followed by a screening of American Mary, the...

Calling Video Diary Of A Lost Girl 'strange' would be a severe understatement. To be quite frank I haven’t seen anything this … well, bizarre for a while. At least not anything recent, this does work in its favor, as it feels very fresh.
This is not something that will appeal to everyone; it is something for a very specific audience. Video Diary Of A Lost Girl (first Feature Film from Lindsay Denniberg) won the Audience Award at the Chicago Underground Film Festival, and that seems a fitting place for this.
If you are into ultra bizarre, underworld type film making, this may be your new favorite film.
This movie isn’t the easiest film to describe, but I’ll keep it simple so you readers get the basic gist and if you get the chance to see it, you’ll want to go in without too much knowledge.

Having been around for eighteen years, the Chicago Underground Film Festival has continually changed what it defines as “underground.”
So its 19th annual edition, which will be held on May 31 to June 7 at the Gene Siskel Film Center, feels like its most experimental edition in recent years.
While things kick off on the 31st with the Vice-produced anthology film The Fourth Dimension by Alexsei Fedorchenko, Harmony Korine and Jan Kwiecinski, the rest of the fest is packed with feature-length and short experimental work, documentaries and alternative narratives.
Some of the experimental feature highlights include the vastly prolific Robert Todd‘s Master Plan, which examines theories of modern housing from private residences to prisons; Australia’s two-person art collective Soda_Jerk’s epic rip on media piracy, Hollywood Burn; Michael Kosakowski’s compendium on murder fantasies, Zero Killing; L.A. filmmaker Daniel Martinico’s meditation on the acting process, Ok, Good...
