Just in time for Father's Day, Fox Broadcasting Co. has given a 22-episode pickup for the 2007-08 season to the animated comedy American Dad. Fox gave the full-season pickup to the 20th Century Fox TV show more than a year in advance of the '07-'08 season because of the long lead time required for animation production. The half-hour series about a CIA agent and his family premiered in the summer and settled in well this past season behind Family Guy as a part of Fox's Sunday animation block. Dad hails from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. Barker and Weitzman are executive producers and showrunners on the series; MacFarlane is an executive producer and provides the voices for many of the characters, including title character Stan Smith.
